We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our Fixed Income Markets, Strategy & Trading team in London, to help support the Engage program - an advisory service that provides clients access to J.P. Morgan expertise and advice, whilst allowing clients to retain control over their investment decisions.

Job Summary:

As a EMEA Markets, Strategy & Trading, Fixed Income Engage Associate in the Solutions team, your role role will include different elements of sales, client portfolio advice/oversight, and some execution trading; hence the ideal candidate would be versatile and willing to expand their core skill set. You will communicate Fixed Income market strategy and investment knowledge to advisors and clients, providing investment advice, portfolio reviews and recommendations, in order achieve client objectives. This role requires strong market and Fixed Income knowledge, with excellent presentation, client facing skills, and an understanding of credit trading conventions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of Fixed Income strategies, advising clients within our Engage platform to attract and retain clients
  • Provide thoughtful and appropriate investment solutions across implementation vehicles including single line bonds, Mutual Funds, ETFs, Discretionary SMAs (separately managed accounts)
  • Support senior team members in client portfolio oversight, including monitoring performance, conducting risk assessments, and making investment recommendations
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the Fixed Income market
  • Prepare and present reports, investment commentary and thematic thought-pieces to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including trading and compliance to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fixed income products, market conditions, and regulatory changes
  • Educate both internal advisors and clients on Fixed Income markets and concepts
  • Communicate and form strong relationships with internal advisors as well as clients and industry participants

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Some prior relevant experience, could include research, sales, trading, capital markets or buy-side portfolio management
  • Demonstrable ability to confidently engage with persons at all levels of the organisation as well as with clients and build/maintain a broader industry network
  • Excellent communication skills. The candidate must be articulate verbally and on paper with ability to write impactful short and longer papers. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate confidence and strong ability to generate trust with clients through credible discussions and presentations on investment matters
  • Personality marked by drive and ambition with demonstrated success in dealing with a wide range of clients
  • Superior analytical skills; strong computer skills; Excel, Bloomberg and PowerPoint knowledge, coding in python highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English is essential, in addition a European language would be very useful
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, market dynamics, and investment strategies
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends
