As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset Management Alternatives Tech Team, you will be leading our India-based team. Your role will involve collaborating with business, product, and both global and local technology teams to deliver well-engineered solutions to complex business problems. You will be tasked with designing and building software to cater to the needs of Cross Alts Expense Management and Treasury Management. Additionally, you will lead AI/ML global deliverables for Alts Tech and utilize your knowledge, skills, and experience to promote positive impact.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of the team providing guidance on best practice and architecture across AM Alts Tech
  • Partner with the global leads for the areas to ensure a consistent approach to backlog management and agile process
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design engineering solutions to complex business problems including collaboration with Alts India business and Ops team to identify opportunities
  • Participate as part of global Alts leadership teams help shape the vision for these platforms and help drive this vision with the India based engineering teams
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies, to diverse and complex projects of moderate to large scope
  • Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for immediate and broader team
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification in computer science/engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Proficient in coding in Java, Spring Boot and Python and AWS, REACT.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expert in Agility practices, SDLC processes, CICD, application resiliency and security
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with prior experience of influencing across matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Strong analytical, logical and problem solving skills to provide solution to complex business problems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience of Machine Learning technologies
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
  • Experience of working with modern front end technologies such as React
  • Behavior Driven Development
