As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase in Corporate Investment Banking's Reconciliation function you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery
Job responsibilities
- Leads multiple technology implementations across various business groups to achieve firmwide technology objectives
- Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
- Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
- Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
- Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise with focus on Java
- Solid experience in AWS technologies, spearheading modernization initiatives
- Formal training or certification on cloud, software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Expert in one or more programming language(s) - Knowledge of building Java based applications on cloud
- Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives
- Understanding of the business
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Domain knowledge on Post Trade flows is preferred
