As a Director of Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - Product Delivery and Management, you'll have the opportunity to apply and grow your deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Manages technical areas within infrastructure engineering, collaborates with others across different technical areas, and anticipates the needs of multiple disciplines within the function
- Manages and implements corporate and divisional operational plans and provides broad direction to teams, team leads, and supervisors
- Manages key senior stakeholders and ensures teams deliver in accordance with compliance standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Drives multiple complex projects, processes, and initiatives
- Develops and executes the function's objectives with accountability for outcomes
- Be responsible for staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
- Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Block Storage Engineering product experience (eg Dell PowerFlex/PowerMax, HPE 3Par/Primera, NetApp SolidFire, Lightbits Labs, Pure Storage, Ceph, etc)
- Datacenter stack experience (Storage, Compute, Networking)
- Linux/Unix and Windows Operating Systems
- Proven experience in automation of manual tasks via code (eg Python) or scripts (eg bash, Ansible, PowerShell)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python; also JSON, YAML, etc
- Rest API consumption via code or scripts
- Ability to lead others and provide Subject Matter Expertise in one or more subjects, and excellent presentation skills
- Work with external vendors for new and existing products
- Experience of large enterprise infrastructure design
- Knowledge of data storage technologies from Dell, NetApp or similar companies as well as sftware and systems security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Public Cloud (AWS, CGP, Azure) experience, certification in one or more advantageous
- Software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Microservices software design and architecture (scalability, reliability, availability).
- Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
- Version control systems (git)
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
