Welcome to JPMorgan Chase. Are you looking for an opportunity to work in Asia-Pacific Derivatives Hub team? You have found the right team.

As a Derivatives Operations Analyst within the OTC Derivatives Operations team, you will be tasked with managing operational processes related settlement of Derivatives transactions. You will be working in Asia-Pacific Derivatives Hub team based in Kuala Lumpur, primarily supporting Japanese clients. You and your new team will handle various products namely Rates, Credit, Equities and Commodities.

You will be instrumental in facilitating transaction execution via a 'best in class' systematic control framework, integrating risk systems (Athena, GPS, Kapital, Pyramid) with vendor platforms (DTCC / TIW / Markitwire / Thunderhead). Your responsibilities will also encompass, client service and break resolution, processing of Derivatives transactions, maintaining client & business reference data, supporting Front Office sales and Middle Office, and managing inter-regional stakeholders. You will also be involved in process review and uplift.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all trade cashflow are correct and agreed with clients in a timely and risk-free manner
  • Ensure all payments are processed correctly and settled within cut off times
  • Provide the highest of customer service standards to external clients and internal partners/stakeholders
  • Partner closely with middle office, sales and operations teams around the globe
  • Ensure all controls and checks are completed by the end of day & day-to-day compliance with internal SLAs
  • Resolve of outstanding breaks in the Nostro/Wash accounts, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze and re-engineering existing processes
  • Be involved in any ad-hoc project requirements such as technology enhancements, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system updates and ownership of desk user tools

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hold a bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Experience of handling Japanese clients on a regular basis is a must; Japanese language skills is a prerequisite
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Excellent relationship-building and time management skills
  • Ability to cope in a high-pressure environment with time-critical deliveries whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to identify, understand, and address operational related issues.
  • Control mindset to identify process control gaps, prioritize, and mitigate operational risk

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Derivatives Operations within the banking industry - not compulsory but added advantage
  • Experience with investment banking environment, preferably in Back Office - not compulsory but added advantage
  • Experience with handling external clients
