Data Scientist Lead

The Data Scientist Lead will leverage deep expertise in building data-driven solutions and extracting insights from big data environments to partner with senior leaders across the Card business and deliver high-impact analytics supporting Card CX. This role is a mix of consulting know-how (problem solving, communication, partnership building) and hands-on proficiency in analytics, SQL programming, visualization methods and technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong partnerships with our stakeholders across Card CX to align on and execute on the CX analytics roadmap
  • Demonstrate strong analytical ability through understanding and implementation of various analytical and statistical techniques to answer high-priority business questions
  • Coordinate and lead the execution of multiple Card CX analytics and data science initiatives, working closely with various analytics teams. Act as a project lead and contribute as an individual contributor where needed.
  • Be a trusted advisor and thought leader by providing recommendations on analytics best practices, methods and tools for analytical work in order to identify most impactful opportunities for enhancing customer experiences
  • Support recruiting and interviewing efforts to find and hire the best and diverse talent for Chase
  • Set standards of excellence for the team by demonstrating professional expertise, strong work ethic, integrity and professional behavior

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant quantitative field required, advanced degree preferred in analytical field (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Applied Math, Operations Research, other Data Science fields); advanced degree preferred (MS/PhD)
  • 3+ years of hands on experience within marketing, finance, data science or risk analysis; experience evaluating complex business problems, data analysis and devising recommendations and analytics to solve those business problems.
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and a proven track record of driving value for the business.
  • Thought leader in analytics who can help our internal clients define their business problem, create solutions to address it, and deliver those solutions.
  • Proficiency in, or relevant exposure to, the breadth of project management and analytics, including data engineering & infrastructure to higher order modeling, including ML/AI models and end-to-end delivery of analytical solutions.
  • Experience across a broad range of modern analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake, SAS, SQL, Spark, Python, Tableau, Alteryx)
  • Excellent communicator who is able to convey complex information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to non-technical clients and executives and junior data scientists.
  • Intellectually curious and self-driven to understand business domains and their data.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Understanding of the key drivers within the credit card P&L is preferred.
  • Financial services background preferred, but not required.
