Corporate & Investment Bank - Economic Research - Analyst/Associate

This role sits within the front office and you will partner closely with various internal parties and provide up to date, industry leading research.

As an Analyst/Associate in the Economics research team, you will work closely with the economists on analyzing data, building models and writing research reports as well as responding to internal and external client requests.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide input, maintain and update a wide range of data files on macro indicators
  • Analyze and process latest economic dataflow and produce timely research reports
  • Assist in building models and provide input on thematic reports
  • Contribute to regular weekly, monthly and quarterly reports of team
  • Respond to internal and external client requests in a timely fashion
  • Work with economists from other countries/ regions, as well as strategists, to produce cross-region, cross-asset class research reports

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Post-graduate degree (Masters or above) in economics or finance; 3.5 out of 4.0 GPA equivalent or above
  • 1-3 years relevant working experience
  • Strong analytical skills in macroeconomics and econometrics, knowledge about financial market and investment
  • Familiar with various database such as CEIC, Haver, Bloomberg, Wind, etc, and able to search resources on internet effectively
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and EViews, Knowledge in AI-tools a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Adaptability and ability to work well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in China macro research a plus
