AWM Governance Centre of Excellence (COE) is a global team with an exciting and wide ranging Book of Work, the team provides a fantastic opportunity to learn a suite of new skills that the candidate can leverage throughout their career, while also playing a key role in the efforts to enhance the AWM Controls environment. The Governance Team plays an integral role in managing risk by facilitating solutions to complex problems that is not confined to one sub-line of business. Drive automation to deliver solutions across governance and reporting landscape

Job responsibilities

  • Prepare control metrics and materials for Business Control Committee (BCC), Business Control Meeting (BCM), Control Review meetings
  • Provide critical analysis reporting, executing regulatory mandates, establish new control frameworks
  • Assist in managing by facilitate solutions to complex problems that is not confined to one sub-line of business.
  • Drive automation to deliver solutions across governance and reporting landscape.
  • Assist with control governance and reporting strategy to identify meaningful metrics to inform on health of operation risk and control environment; escalate control deficiencies based on key reporting indicators
  • Contribute to the coordination and implementation of various strategic control reporting and analytics initiatives
  • Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control function
  • Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols

Required qualification, skills and capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 12-14 years of financial service experience in controls, analytics and reporting, operations, audit, assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Control and Risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate the Operational Risk & Control environment in conjunction with business partners
  • Problem solving/Analytical skills - Solid critical thinking, attention to details and analytical skills,. Able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusions (i.e.- understanding root cause, identifying control breaks, developing timely and suitable solutions, analyze metrics for emerging risk
  • Business knowledge (ability to understand business/knowledge of regulations surrounding business)
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner, networking
  • Able to work autonomously to affect change, process analysis/design acumen, problem solving/analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) while a good knowledge of Alteryx, Tableau, QlikView is a plus

Preferred Qualification
