Consumer & Community Banking Strategy, Executive Director

A role on the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Strategy team provides the opportunity to support senior executives on strategic initiatives aligned with the bank's overall business goals. The CCB Strategy team is an internal management consulting group that defines and shapes the overall strategy, governance, organizational structure, operating model, architecture, and processes for our CCB line of business.

As an Executive Director on the CCB Strategy team, you will oversee a portfolio of strategic projects for our Retail Credit Lending organization. You will be responsible for developing trusted partnerships with senior leaders, including CEOs and Senior Credit Strategy Officers of our businesses, and collaborating closely with a diverse set of internal partners on a wide variety of initiatives. You will oversee a team to manage critical projects, including but not limited to, building out the line of business Credit Decisional Unit and developing the strategy for the Credit Decisional Unit. Success as an Executive Director requires a commercial mind-set, the ability to understand and leverage data sets and develop actionable business plans and go-to-market strategies, allowing senior business leaders to focus on the most optimal and actionable strategic opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives and projects to resolve diverse problems related to Retail Credit Lending
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner for senior leaders
  • Guide strategic thinking and problem-solving approaches
  • Develop and deliver executive-level strategy narratives, deliverables, and analyses
  • Monitor industry trends and share insightful reports and analyses with the broader team and senior executives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in business and strategy from either a premier management consulting firm, or another internal Strategy organization
  • An outstanding ability to analyze problems and apply quantitative and analytical approaches
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and the ability to confidently work well in cross-functional teams
  • Interpersonal leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to interact with senior business executives
  • Expertise in Retail Credit Lending, finance concepts, operating models, and a passion for staying current with industry trends
  • Ability to organize and prioritize critical issues and information to facilitate efficient decision-making
  • Ability to coach and develop junior talent while providing oversight and guidance to high-priority projects

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or a related field

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. We're proud to lead the U.S. in credit card sales and deposit growth and have the most-used digital solutions - all while ranking first in customer satisfaction.

The Strategy team manages mission-critical projects ranging from developing growth strategies, to assessing and planning entry into new markets, to implementing organizational restructurings and operational efficiencies, and more. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with senior executives.
