As a Technology Operational Risk Executive Director within the Corporate Functions Technology team, you will lead large, complex programs and oversee systems. Your role will involve evaluating technology practices for operational challenges and cybersecurity-related concerns, identifying potential risks, and evaluating existing risks on a global scale. Your proven ability to promote business results with your insights will be crucial, as you will be working with a wide range of technology, risk stakeholders, and functional teams. Leveraging your experience in engineering, software development, and technology operations, you will identify risks within the technology stack or organization that could lead to operating disruption, compliance, or security issues. Besides developing and executing an oversight plan, you will also build and maintain credible relationships with first-line stakeholders across compute, storage, database, and network products.

The Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Corporate Technology (CT) Operational Risk Executive reports directly into the Technology Operational Risk Executive for Asset Wealth Management (AWM), CT, and Governance, Risk and Control (GRC) and is responsible for analysis and identification of operational risks to business processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify technology operational risks stemming from events and incidents
  • Identify operational risks stemming from large and/or impactful change activities
  • Drive the thematic analysis of existing risks, internal / external events
  • Participate and challenge first line risk mitigation strategies and overall execution
  • Design monitoring and testing activity to detect operational and compliance risks during the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Operational Risk Officers across Corporate Functions in risk oversight activities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years in an infrastructure or development leadership role
  • Strong background in technology engineering
  • Strong understanding of applications testing, quality control, change and release management
  • Familiarity with strategic development tools (JIRA, etc.)
  • Expertise with Cloud Technologies (i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with ITSM, ITIL, with focus on Engineering processes
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
