The J.P. Morgan Global Banking communications team is searching for an eager, dynamic, passionate and creative communicator to join the team. This high-functioning group leads employee engagement across the business through thoughtful, holistic and data-driven communications strategies-and by being trusted, strategic advisors with effective delivery for our most senior leaders around the world.

As a Communications Sr. Associate supporting the Global Banking team you will posses intentional, empathetic and well-organized storyteller capabilities and be ready to try and learn new things as opportunities arise. As a core part of the team, you will be responsible for creating executive messages, drafting talking points, designing presentations, writing internal articles, and planning and managing internal events end-to-end to reach and inform our audiences. In addition, you will be a strategic advisor, communicator, and project manager who will help articulate the team's vision and oversee the development and execution of communications plans that deliver on our priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with internal communications and employee engagement strategy for J.P. Morgan's Global Banking and Global Investment Banking businesses, including town halls and employee events, executive messages, internal newsletters, recognition opportunities, talking points and editorial stories.
  • Identify key milestones and examples to promote internally and externally to generate excitement and awareness and lead engagement; write, edit and maintain quality control of compelling stories and content.
  • Develop strong relationships with communicators across the firm and communications team, and with key partners including Business Management, Marketing, Content, Digital and Legal to collaborate effectively on executive communications, employee engagement, social media, content development, events, etc.
  • Research communications and engagement opportunities and understand the small and big details; understand both the firm's and Global Banking's priorities.
  • Manage communications trends and industry news, contributing insights and helping to identify opportunities to lead greater impact through strategic communications while increasing efficiency and effectiveness; track and measure results to showcase business impact.
  • Support the Head of Global Banking Communications in managing the organization across the Communications team by staying one step ahead to help manage priorities effectively, coordinate activities, and track critical deliverables.
  • Lead innovation, new ideas and better ways to work across Global Banking Communications and implement new business strategy, strategic initiatives, or platforms, including aligning department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance).
  • Develop and support senior level strategic presentations and project management, including decks, briefs, talking points.
  • Work with financial partners and leadership team to track overall budgets including forecasting, planning, headcount, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Lead the employee engagement agenda for the team's 30+ members, inclusive of offsite preparation, junior talent meetings, the creation of an employee opinion action agenda and proposed in-person get togethers.
  • Help manage the Head of Global Banking Communications' time and priorities effectively to bring together a cohesive story of the work we do and the value to the Firm, while also ensuring our employees feel valued.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • 5+ years of work experience and hold a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, communications or other related area.
  • Working knowledge of corporate internal and employee communications strategies, best practices, implementation and execution.
  • Passion and creativity for storytelling, with the ability to breakdown complex subjects for different audiences.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high volume, high priority initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Analytical, strategic approach to problem solving and finding solutions.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills (i.e. digital design for presentations)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Solid understanding of the financial services industry; experience in public relations
  • Comfortable navigating matrixed organizations
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint and intranet technology and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Additional software skills (e.g., HTML, Adobe Creative Suite including video editing)
