As a Vice President within the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) team, you will be responsible for leading the pricing, design, marketing, and implementation of structured products for our Japanese financial institutional clients. Collaborating closely with local sales teams, global structurers, traders, and various support functions, you will play a key role in promoting business growth. Additionally, you will supervise the back-testing of Quantitative Index Strategies and manage transactions involving unique insurance product offerings in Japan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the identification of business opportunities, develop strategic business plans, and spearhead efforts for QIS initiatives.
- Oversee the design and innovation of QIS, including payoff structures and product designs linked to equity underlyings, mutual funds, and multi-asset hybrids. Think out of the box.
- Ensure familiarity with internal booking systems, back-testing tools, pricing models, and the legal/compliance aspects of trade documentation.
- Prepare and review legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and refine marketing materials, collaborating with sales teams to present product ideas and identify opportunities.
- Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with internal control requirements in all business activities.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Proven leadership in driving QIS business in Japan, with strong alignment with local sales, the APAC team, and senior management.
- Deep proficiency in market and product terminology related to derivatives/QIS, with extensive knowledge of the Japanese market. Strong understanding of the quantitative aspects and frameworks of products, including pricing and models, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Creative problem-solving skills with strong analytical abilities, consistently seeking innovative approaches.
- Comprehensive understanding of various risk types and effective risk management strategies.
- Ability to understand, explain, and anticipate market movements, with a strong grasp of relevant markets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management.
- Thorough knowledge of the transaction cycle and process steps, with a focus on execution.
- Ability to thrive under competitive pressures, maintaining a client-focused approach.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating concepts and ideas both verbally and in writing, and tailoring messages to diverse audiences.
- General understanding of Japan's financial regulations on derivatives products, banking regulations, and accounting practices.
- International experience, with Japanese language proficiency as a requirement.

- Self-directed, highly motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Proficiency in Excel, coding (Python), and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
