The Centralized Research Group (CRG) is a talent hub for banking teams across the globe. It is a part of JPMorgan Banking business. We work closely with the firm's Banking teams across the globe to provide research and analytical support, supporting bankers with customized intelligence on targeted companies, sectors and markets, analyzing potential business opportunities and preparing client marketing materials. These researches and analysis can relate to mergers & acquisitions, equity capital raising, debt capital raising or treasury solutions provided by the bank.

At CRG Shanghai, you will be closely integrated with Asia coverage banker teams. In-depth industry and capital market knowledge, financial analysis along with excellent communication and presentation skills will be the key skills to support Investment Bankers. CRG team members come from diverse educational backgrounds with strong academic performance and relevant work experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Marketing materials and deal support: Work with colleagues in Shanghai and across regional locations to prepare marketing materials including market updates, pricing updates, earning summaries, case studies, peer benchmarking, target company profiles and benchmarking. Contribute on RFPs including industry landscapes, buyer / target screening and investor profiles. Also work independently and contribute to execution including but not limited to preparation of analyst presentations, management presentation, roadshow presentation, information memoranda, due diligence questionnaires and sales force memos
  • Financial analysis: Analysis and interpretation of financial statements including preparing trading and transaction comparables, and financial metric benchmarking for companies. Work on various types of financial analysis including ratings analysis, capital structure analysis and firepower analysis. Actively build and develop valuation and financial models
  • Research: Source and interpret company / industry information from a variety of data sources (company reports, Internet, online databases, J.P. Morgan proprietary content). Learn to develop views on specific industries and start tracking them for developments / potential opportunities
  • Industry or Product coverage: Work with colleagues in Shanghai and across regional locations to develop and apply industry / geographic market fundamentals (e.g. impact of economic/market conditions, competitive landscape, risks, trends) for clients across the globe. Also track a set of clients / emerging sectors / product themes with an aim to pitch potential ideas across M&A / ECM / DCM

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor/Master degree from a reputed college/institute
  • Strong communication skills (written as well as verbal) and an ability to precisely articulate thoughts
  • Intellectually inquisitive and highly motivated self-starter with problem solving mindset
  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Analytical aptitude and ability to learn new concepts
  • Close attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality output under pressure
  • Strong team player demonstrating integrity and ability to work with teams across geographies

Good language skills (Chinese and English) are essential, Korean/Japanese will be a plus
