Role Responsibilities

As the Business Control Manager (VP) for the Structuring Business, you will support the Strategic Indices business across multiple Lines of Business, including Equities, Rates, FX, Credit, and Commodities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-chairing Control Governance forums.
  • Acting as the Controls and Operational Risk Framework Subject Matter Expert for the Structuring business.
  • Monitoring and assessing operational risk to proactively identify and address existing and emerging risks and issues.
  • Evaluating new business and change proposals, including the adoption of Large Language Model applications, against current risk and control infrastructure, and identifying necessary improvements.
  • Fostering a proactive risk and control culture using proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols.
  • Overseeing, reviewing, and executing ad hoc analytical requests, control deep dives, business projects, and business resiliency efforts.
  • Collaborating across the three Lines of Defence: 1st Line - Business, Operations, Technology; 2nd Line - Legal, Compliance, Risk; 3rd Line - Audit to reduce operational risk and address identified issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services.
  • Either direct experience with derivative businesses and products or experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of control and risk management concepts, with the ability to design, create, and evaluate operational risk in collaboration with business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Self-starter with experience working with senior managers, providing appropriate challenges, and driving results.
