As a Vice President in the Client Service team, you will be servicing both Institutional and Funds Clients within Asset Management Business. You will have extensive experience in client account management, including initial onboarding of mandates and day-to-day servicing. You will collaborate and liaise closely with sales, legal, compliance, operations, and overseas client service teams to provide the highest standard of client experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate long-term partnerships with key clients by understanding their business needs and agendas.
  • Manage the client lifecycle, client-impacting changes, and projects in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients in Japan, in collaboration with Sales, managing onboarding and day-to-day client service activities to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate business growth and communicate significant client issues internally, escalating as appropriate for timely resolution.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements in Japanese and English, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements with guidance from legal and compliance teams.
  • Influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders and continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, optimizing client experience and reducing risks and manual efforts.
  • Initiate, participate in, or coordinate onshore or global projects to enhance client experience, address regulatory changes, and support global initiatives. Partner closely with regional and global project teams on global initiatives.
  • Drive a robust risk and control environment, proactively resolving issues and managing risks.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Over ten years of experience in Asset Management industry, ideally in an institutional client-facing role with experience working in Japan and collaborating with internal global teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexible mindset to serve clients, including problem-solving, negotiation with clients and collaborate with sales and internal stakeholders to satisfy client expectations.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and capable of multitasking in a team environment.
  • Excellent proficiency in legal agreement drafting and negotiation.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, products, and services.
  • Experience in working in fast-paced, deadline-driven pressured environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience working with Japanese institutional clients is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Japanese financial regulations and ability to reflect them in documentations.
  • Strong understanding of market practices and investment schemes.
  • Experience and knowledge of tools such as Python is a plus.
