The Global Market Insights Strategy Team provides macroeconomic and capital markets insights and research to institutional investors, financial advisors, and their clients to help them make informed investment decisions. The team strives to simplify the complex in the global economy and markets through our industry-leading publication, the Guide to the Markets as well as speeches, webcasts, podcasts, blogs and other forms of communication.

Job Summary

As an Asset Management - Alternative Market Insights Research Analyst in the Global Market Insights Strategy Team, you will be responsible for supporting our Global Market Strategists in conducting macroeconomic and capital market research. Your passion for macroeconomics and financial markets will be demonstrated through your work experience, academic background, and extracurricular activities. You will be expected to have strong quantitative and statistical skills, along with superior verbal and written communication skills. Your role will involve conducting research on Global Alternatives, authoring research pieces, presenting team outlook on global economy and capital markets, and supporting Global Market Strategists on specific research initiatives. This role provides an opportunity to work independently, take initiative, and pay keen attention to quality and detail.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on Global Alternatives
    • Generate content for and update the Guide to Alternatives. Update quarterly.
    • Author research pieces on Alternative themes and asset classes
  • Conduct research on broader global economy and capital markets
    • Author Weekly Market Recap, highlighting key market and economic developments and tying them to the team's broader outlook/views.
  • Present team outlook on global economy and capital markets
    • Provide written responses to questions from clients and the sales force in a timely fashion.
    • Present the Guide to Alternatives to an internal audience.
  • Support Global Market Strategists on specific research initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • At least 1+ years of experience in financial services
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for financial markets and global economics. Ability to generate and pursue an individual research agenda.
  • Experience and/or interest in alternative investments
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and style.
  • Superior quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel), Bloomberg, Factset.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or related major preferred.
  • CFA and/or CAIA candidate or desire to pursue advanced degree/designation is preferred.
  • Liberal arts majors considered.
  • Private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, infrastructure preferred.
