This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of the Asia Trade & Working Capital product controller. The Asia Trade & Working Capital Product Controller team is an ideal area for a highly motivated candidate to develop their career. The team partners with a multitude of regional and global stakeholders including Credit, Risk Management, Product Management, Operations, Line of Business and Legal Entity Controllers to deliver on the product control agenda whilst providing the business meaningful and timely support and analysis. The Asia Trade & Working Capital Product Controller team is seeking to hire a highly motivated candidate to join the regional team based in Singapore

As a Product Controller in the team you will be contributing to the overall integrity and accuracy of the financial information related to Trade Products. This team executes a wide range of responsibilities including monthly close, financial general ledger reporting and regulatory activities, the firm finance target/systems infrastructure and strategic projects to support the business.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform monthly close activities including but not limited to review of financial data, investigating significant variances and transactions, fluctuation analysis, preparation of financial reporting deliverables, preparation of estimate accruals, entry processing, perform reconciliations, general ledger substantiation etc.
  • Lead change within month-end processes in order to improve transparency in month-end results
  • Participate in the review of New Business Initiatives for Trade Products.
  • Ensure financial information is in compliance with US and local GAAP and the Bank's Corporate Accounting Policies, documenting exceptions where appropriate.
  • Act as a resource to project management and the businesses for various projects/business initiatives
  • Identify and lead targeted reviews for specific products/processes based on both qualitative and quantitative factors and risks
  • Understand and contribute to the control framework of the business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or external audit in the financial services industry
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills, attention to detail and control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with global team and other groups within the organization
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and effective under tight timeframes and pressure
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and good knowledge of SAP system

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong Trade Finance product and process knowledge
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA)
  • VBA skills
