DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Execute database resiliency and troubleshoot when there are issues. Understand and execute application resiliency. Debug, and execute complex SQL Queries against legacy databases. Identify processes using high database resources. Use expert knowledge of AWM legacy overnight and intra-day batch processing. Responsible for building automation scripts to reduce manual repeated steps. Fix data issues, understand upstream and downstream data flow. Guide and assist tech partners in the areas of building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers where appropriate. Collaborate with other software engineers and teams to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in their applications. Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms in your remit. Resolve complex problems and work across product and engineering teams to help define SRE standards, drive implementation of SRE approaches and best practices. Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement site reliability within an application or platform. Understand service level indicators (SLI) and utilize service level objectives (SLO) to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers as well as implementing tools and capabilities to track and measure performance using KPI's (Key Performance Indicator's) against these objectives. Partner with product teams to enhance level objective alerting and telemetry collection. Assist application stakeholders with best practices as they migrate to Public Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Collaborate with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Application/Software Developer, Application System Analyst, Technology Specialist, or related occupation..

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Web-based distributed client server environment such as J2EE, IBM's WebSphere, or MQ series; Apache; Tomcat; Java; Webservices; XML; Soap; RDBMS; Non-RDBMS DB servers; SQL; Sybase; Oracle; Sqlserver; ETL process; Informatica Power Center ETL tool; Unix; Linux; Perl and Shell Scripting; Python scripting; NDM (Network Data Mover); SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol); FTP (File Transfer Protocol); SSH (Secure shell); SSL (Secure Socket layer); ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) production support principles including Incident Management Problem Management, Change Management, Ticketing, and Service Management; CA-Autosys; CA- Control-M/EM; and alert alarming tools such as Netcool.
