Step into a pivotal role within our APAC Regional Control Management team, where your expertise will drive the future of risk assessment across Asia-Pacific. Join us in Hong Kong and be part of a team that ensures our legal entities are at the forefront of compliance and operational excellence.

As a member of the APAC Legal Entity Risk Assessment team, you will play a critical role in coordinating and conducting comprehensive risk assessments for 24 APAC Legal Entities. Your responsibilities will include performing quality assurance testing, data analysis, and drafting detailed risk assessments. You will evaluate legal entity processes, risks, and controls using the Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) platform, identifying top compliance risks through both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Your work will inform the Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA), which is essential for assessing and reporting compliance risks related to laws, regulations, and policies. Reporting to the local team leader in Hong Kong, you will conduct complex data and business analysis, supporting the creation of the CRA and collaborating with the Location Control Manager and other stakeholders during the review and challenge phase. Your insights will be presented to the Legal Entity's board as part of an annual regulatory requirement, ensuring our entities remain compliant and resilient.

Job responsibilities:

  • Collate quantitative and qualitative data sources
  • Reconcile firm's legal obligation repository to ensure completeness of Compliance Group representation
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify key compliance groups contributing to inherent and residual risks within a legal entity
  • Manage the Legal Entity Community of Practice by preparing meeting materials, tracking actions, and documenting feedback from key stakeholders, including Location Controls, Business Controls, Legal, and CCOR (compliane conduct operational risk)
  • Manage key program milestones ; includes; communications , ongoing progress / reporting / managing escalations
  • Draft Compliance Risk Assessment by compiling extracts from all necessary data sources and incorporating qualitative insights from subject matter experts within the Legal Entity
  • Coordinate and disposition the CCOR challenges with relevant control managers
  • Partner, build and establish strong relationships with central control teams across regions (APAC, EMEA, US), key stakeholders and data source providers, develop a thorough understanding of the business profile of the Legal Entities we are evaluating and comprehend how the compliance risk and control environment can impact the overall risk ratings
  • Participate in key initiatives and drive process improvements within the team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minium 7 years of experience, previous experience in Controls, Legal Obligations, Operational and or Compliance Risk Management would be beneficial
  • A strong team player with exceptional collaboration and influencing skills, capable of working closely with peers responsible for data analysis and assessments across APAC
  • A highly motivated and energetic self-starter who takes initiative and can provide constructive observations and recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining high focus on quality
  • An analytical mindset capable of identifying issues and problem solving at both strategic level and in detail with an understanding of its relevance across the business
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits sound judgement, maturity, and composure to recognize risks and escalate them as needed

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), understanding of applications like CORE, ELA, Alteryx skills preferable
