Overview of Team

The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Finance team sits within Corporate Sector Finance. It is comprised of finance professionals across the globe who are accountable for managing both the expense & capital components of the CAO function, ensuring a sound control environment, measuring performance, providing value-adding analyses, and presenting information and ideas to senior management within CAO, to the major lines of business, and to the various Firm-wide finance teams who roll up the results of the entire corporation. The team covers all aspects of the Firm's real estate portfolio including, but not limited to financial analysis and support for space management, property management, lease administration, design & construction, and sustainability projects.

About the Role

As a Financial Analyst individual will be responsible for partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, monthly reporting, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards). You will be expected to provide leadership across the FP&A team, and interact regularly with the Business Managers, the line of business leads and peers across Finance & Business Management and the business.

Responsibilities

In a Financial Analysis role, you would be responsible for managing a team to collectively execute on the following:

  • Financial budgeting, reporting, forecasting and analysis for Expenses and Headcount
  • Overseeing headcount reporting and analysis, support process coordinating, resource optimization projects, the preparation of monthly headcount reports, supporting partners on all resource management related questions, as well as driving key initiatives through working closely with the key stakeholders and making month end forecasting changes
  • Helping design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management
  • Enhancing controls and streamlining processes, introducing automation where possible
  • Supporting the process to deliver month-end results, the forecast for the remainder of the year, and the budget for future years
  • Performing variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and presenting commentary to Business managers and line of business CFOs explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
  • 2+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller/Planning and Analysis background
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with financial systems preferred (EssBase, SAP)
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Integrity in handling highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Experience managing a team and highly effective individuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely

Ability to handle numerous deliverables simultaneously, many with critical deadlines.; candidate must be comfortable with frequently changing priorities
