Agency Securities Finance Operations - Trader Assistant - Associate

Agency Securities Finance (ASF) as agent lender provides equity and fixed income securities to broker dealers to facilitate their proprietary and client trading strategies. Where they have a requirement to borrow securities the lending desk negotiates a fee for the loan based on supply and demand and the type of underlying strategy. With 5 trading desks globally, JPMC offers a 24-hour service in 37 different markets.

As an Associate in the Agency Securities Finance Operations team, you will be responsible for providing regional operational support for our Discretionary Securities Lending businesses. You will work on a product that is positioned for significant growth and we are looking for dedicated individuals to support this expansion.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the onshore trade desk in booking trades & rerates, fixing breaks and other tasks when necessary
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues, ensuring appropriate escalaton is performed. Where necessary, liaise with other departments and broker dealers to agree a satisfactory conclusion, ensuring minimum impact to Trading Services
  • Assess and recommend process improvements to assist in risk mitigation and revenue generation
  • Document and update current processes and trading agreements. Implementing any new controls and changes to workflow after appropriate sign off
  • Provide revenue numbers, forecasts, commentary and other MIS for daily, weekly, monthly etc. reporting
  • Provide support on ad-hoc project requirements such as technology enhancements, UAT testing, system updates and ownership of desk user tools

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Global Financial Markets with a proven track record in a busy & dynamic environment
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Securities Lending, Collateral Management, Settlements or Trade Support/Middle Office role
  • Great understanding of digital tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Python & Xceptor
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with strategic internal & external partners
  • A strong quality and controls focus, with an eye to continuous improvement

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
