As a Trainee in the 2025 Finance and Business Management Traineeship program, you will take part in a 2-year paid program designed to provide a realistic career experience with the firm and to gain exposure to top professionals across our lines of businesses while participating in Financial Markets Certificate (AFMA Accreditation). You will be provided with internal learning and development opportunities, including induction training and senior management networking opportunities.

The function of Global Finance & Business Management is critical to all facets of the business, dedicated to continually making our business better - strategically, financially, and operationally. During your traineeship you'll be placed as a member in one or more of the Global Finance & Business Management teams where you'll work in one of the following functional groups: Business Management, Controller, Financial Analysis, and Project Management.

As an integral part of a team, you are expected to make a personal impact right from the start of the program. Over the course of the program, you will be provided the necessary training and learn a great deal from your colleagues and teammates. You will also get opportunities to meet senior colleagues and continue building your own professional network. You will develop essential knowledge and skills, to help build a dynamic, long-term career with us. In addition to the real-world skillset you will gain, you will also graduate the program with a Financial Markets Certificate (AFMA Accreditation) from a nationally recognized trainer.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and group heads by identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks and optimizing business performance by driving key initiatives. - Business Management
  • Ensure the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting and controls functions for the organization, including legal entity, financial and regulatory and product valuation. - Controller
  • Create meaningful analysis and reporting in support of our businesses. Coordinate with partners across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, creation, oversight and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. - Financial Analysis
  • Contribute to programs that are large scale and comprised of multiple projects and work streams. Initiatives drive cross line of business or firm-wide agendas for implementation of new regulations, standards or policies. - Project Management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Must be a current Year 12 student and have obtained a high school certificate by the time the program commences
  • Cannot have commenced or graduated from a degree, certificate IV qualification or higher at the time the program commences (you are not able to study and complete the traineeship program simultaneously)
  • Must be Australian citizen or Permanent Residence
  • Team player with self-motivation and good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to resolve challenges, improve processes and ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in teams to deliver results
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
