JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for using equipment for the assembly and processing tasks to produce finished products according to established specifications. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines. Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks related to the production of absorbable Vicryl and Vicryl Plus suture in accordance with process specifications and procedures. Typical tasks include the coating and inspection processes on the new generation lines (Lines 4,5,6 and 7) that require a complete operator certification, a TWI sign off and the ability to easily interface and interrupt instruction and warnings generated by the HMI controls system. The CAMSTAR interaction requires an in-depth understanding of the process and the ability to record data contemporaneously and accurately to a set of tasks exceeding 100 steps per lot.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products.

• Interprets instructions and specifications and uses to set up equipment.

• Checks products on assembly line to confirm that they are properly assembled and removes defective products.

• Cleans and maintains equipment as needed.

• Notifies supervisor of maintenance and/or repairs needed on equipment.

• Prepares accurate records/documentation related to quality and work in progress.

• Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

• Performs other duties assigned as needed

• Troubleshoots minor production problems.

• Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

• For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

• Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training.

• Generally, Requires 2-4 Years Work Experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

• Computer skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

• Statistical and analytical problem-solving ability.

• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages.

• Strong background in math or science and/or post high school is desirable.

• Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, scales and balances, calculators, tachometers, computer, and Instron test units.

• Knowledge of braiding and pre-processing operations desirable.

• Ability to use basic hand tools.

• Ability to work independently without continuous supervision

• General inspection skills.

• Aptitude for electric skills

• Ability to maintain accurate records.

• Capable of innovative thinking to resolve problems and recommend corrective actions.

• High level of attention to detail

• Manual dexterity and ability to work with small and intricate parts with precision.
