The Sr. Manager, Strategic Project Delivery is accountable for ensuring compliance with J&J Worldwide Procedures and the execution flawless projects.
Project Management is accountable for the performance of multiple often high complex projects in region, leading through Flawless Project Execution, the oversight and flexible application of scalable Project Delivery Processes required and leading thru the ideation, definition, execution and assessment phases; including, but not limited to driving innovation to ensure safety and appropriate quality, reducing cost and schedule, leading on learning adoption internally and externally, overseeing commissioning, qualification and validation of FDA and other agency regulated facilities, technology transfer and regulations governing product manufacturing.
This role is responsible for managing and ensuring the project progress throughout the project leading the expedition of key activities across function, find solutions to key problems, and communicate project progress, issues and solutions to management and to the project team and also training and mentoring Project Managers (internal and external) to develop Leadership skills and capabilities in Project Ideation and Delivery
A suitable candidate for this role will have excellent leadership experience on all aspects of Project Management end to end including ideation and Business Value Realization sophisticated capital projects. They will also have sound experience and knowledge of process engineering and product in pharma, consumer and medical devices.
Key relationships include collaboration of with E&PS functions (Real Estate, FM and Service Partners) CCFS, EHS, ITS and affiliate Engineering Groups across other functional areas, establishing highly collaborative working relationships with partners, key partners and Business leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as Project Lead on Projects at appropriate stages of Ideation, Design, Execution and Assessment
- Collaborates across other functional areas with Business Partners
- Establishes alignment with Sponsor, agrees management of Key Partners, and aligns Core and Extended Team to deliver the Final Project Objectives
- Communicates regularly with the Sponsor and aligns on communication to Key Partners on all aspects of projects, maintains project communications and prepares information for Key partners in alignment with Leadership
- Facilitates the project planning, tracking and reporting against project Key Deliverables and Final Project Objectives
- Understands Key Performance Indicators and puts plans in place to meet and identify areas for improvement.
- Understands the project intake process, solutioning and how projects should meet the Business Need, Prepares for Stage Gates, and the development of the selected option for CAR approval
- Identifies appropriate project functions, resources and strategies for the Project Delivery Processes and tools via a Project Execution Plan, based on the complexity of the project business strategies, policy, regulations and all local and national legislation.
- Uses Risk Management methodology to identify and manage risks to Final Project Objectives, including resource issues, conflicts and other obstacles, communicating with Sponsors, Functional Managers, Core and Extended Team members to agree appropriate resources.
- Coordinates the design, execution and close out of all project related activities including managing internal resources and the procurement of third party contractors, suppliers and consultants and tracks the project to plan against Final Project Objectives including, but not limited to safety, scope management, contract and construction management, legal and corporate compliance, quality, project controls, commissioning, qualification and validation of FDA and other agencies regulated facilities including technology transfer and regulations governing product manufacturing through operational handover.
- Manages changes and requests for changes with Sponsor, Core and Extended teams.
- Manages Project Close Out activities including operational handover archiving, and financial project close and collation of benchmarking and lessons Learned and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement via lessons collection and lessons adoption.
- Identifies Learning and Development opportunities to enable progression towards Highly Capable Leadership.
- Assists in the evaluation of the value delivered versus the value identified in the Business Need, collating lessons learned from a business perspective.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
- University/Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management from an accredited institution or equivalent is required
Experience and Skills
Required:
- Minimum eight to ten (8-10) years of related experience
- Project Management experience supporting major capital projects / relative business experience and project or operations management
- Extensive knowledge of engineering / construction / projects controls execution
- Knowledge and experience of translating complex business needs into clear Final Project Objectives
- Track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative partnerships at all levels within the organization
Preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
- Familiarity with J&J Project Management approaches (FPX & IDEA Project Delivery Process)
- Experience in an FDA regulated industry
- Prior experience managing complex capital projects > $100MM in Supply Chain, R&D, Pharma and Med Device
- Highly skilled listening and problem-solving skills when managing potential project conflicts
Other:
- The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
