We are looking for a visionary leader for the Sr Director, Cross BU Procurement Category Leader SCP MedTech role. In this crucial position, you will manage spend across vital areas, including MedTech Supply Chain Packaging, Raw Materials, Electronic and External Manufacturing, and Warehousing, requiring strong collaboration with stakeholders.

You will engage with senior leaders in Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, and Finance to develop and implement the SCP MedTech Strategy, ensuring we achieve our goals in financial performance, reliability, quality, and growth.

By leading a team of Sourcing professionals, you'll establish robust category leadership through strategic development, supplier management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement, enabling successful project delivery.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

1. Develop and Drive Category Vision: Partner with stakeholders to formulate and implement the MedTech Category vision, ensuring alignment with business needs through strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring.

2. Supplier Relationship Management: Own and nurture key supplier relationships by conducting performance reviews, facilitating regular engagements, and interfacing with supplier leadership to align on objectives related to quality, reliability, innovation, and cost.

3. Lead Team Effectively: Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation while providing capability building and governance.

4. Implement Category Strategies: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies and implementation plans, leveraging insights on supplier performance, market dynamics, and investment analysis to drive value creation.

5. Performance Reviews and People Management: Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate leads, ensuring accountability and alignment with MedTech goals while promoting team motivation and growth.

6. Portfolio Management: Manage and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives that meet the procurement goals of MedTech, focusing on sustainable solutions and driving cost competitiveness.

7. Monitor and Address Issues: Proactively identify and address supply chain issues that may impact MedTech operations, ensuring risk mitigation and adherence to financial and performance commitments.

8. Drive Innovation and Sustainability: Facilitate supplier-enabled innovation to address unmet business needs and support the Sustainable Procurement Program and Supplier Diversity initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree

• 15+ years of combined experience in supply chain and direct procurement category management and transformation

• Broad understanding of business operations and core procurement areas, including spend management, category management, and supplier management

• 5+ years of experience in people management

• Expertise in contracting, with knowledge of regulatory, legal, compliance, and commercial elements

• Strong customer orientation and ability to build and maintain relationships with JNJ senior management

• High level of credibility with internal customers and the supplier community

• Proven leadership skills, including vision and strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration, and talent development

• Strong project and change management capabilities

• Strong business acumen

• Multi-country and multi-sector experience preferred, with familiarity across diverse geographies and business sizes

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information confidently

• Ability to seek and implement continuous improvements

• Capacity to prioritize requests and propose effective cost and customer service alternatives

• Strong judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

Preferred

• MBA or other advanced degree

• Degree in business, life sciences, or supply chain

• Experience in multiple roles across various functional specialties, including general management, R&D, marketing, supply chain, or a technical field

• 10+ years of experience in a senior position within a procurement environment

• High proficiency in core procurement skills, such as supplier management, performance, supply market analysis, and procurement excellence

• High level of credibility with both internal customers and the supplier community

• Demonstrated examples of delivering significant performance improvements while developing strategies and managing risk

• Strong influencing skills with the ability to view issues from multiple perspectives and understand the diverse needs of stakeholders

• Proven track record in attracting and developing talent

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles

• Significant business acumen and demonstrated team-building skills

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in the external environment, ensuring effective transitions within the organization

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is 173000 to 299000.
