Position Summary

The Service Repair Technician is responsible for the test, repair, and disposition of Service Returned Material Authorization (RMA) products for Robotic Platforms. The Service Repair Technician is responsible for the service and repair of designated electronic or mechanical products in the most efficient manner and is responsible for adhering to established quality standards. This person may work with the site Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, including the Complaint department and technical support to resolve root cause of product failures. The Repair Service Technician will also be responsible for following all local and global policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform test and repair of Robotic Platforms at the subsystem, interface, and component levels.
  • Assist with documenting test plans, results, conclusions, and traceability with product requirements and design specifications.
  • Analyze test failures, troubleshoot, identify root cause of failures, and verify corrective actions.
  • Establish customer satisfaction through excellence in repair and support of customer products.
  • Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures/work instructions and crafting records to meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Maintain inventory, tools, certified test equipment, and items related to the Service Repair Depot.
  • Provide assistance with failure analysis of RMAs and accurately documents findings.
  • Follow all applicable work instructions, set up and operate machines/equipment/fixtures to perform repair and testing processes.
  • Provide detailed symptom descriptions for failures uncovered during functional test and calibration to assist in component-level troubleshooting.
  • Conduct sophisticated quality inspection of own or other's‚ work to ensure workmanship standards are met.
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) principles to assembly, test records and related documentation.
  • Identify and raise nonconforming products and support root cause investigation alongside manufacturing engineering.
  • Train and mentor new engineers in assembly and test operations as needed.


Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Minimum of an associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years medical device or capital equipment service repair experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Ability to work with and configure computer hardware and software.
  • Understand and apply GMP and GDP principles.
  • Sound analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative, independent, driven and results oriented.
  • Methodical and comprehensive, yet flexible and able to easily adjust to evolving requirements and navigate in a fast-paced environment to meet tight schedules.
  • Effective and proactive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a multi-functional array of mechanical, electrical, system, and software engineers.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Support experience in Robotics.
  • Agile PLM experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in a laboratory/assembly environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands:

  • May require lifting of up to 50 lbs. and operation of hoisting equipment for heavier loads.
  • May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling during system assembly.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • Availability to work extended day shift preferred (8:00am-4:30pm) to overlap with R&D and Manufacturing.

Additional Information:

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $58,000 to $81,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. •

    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
