We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Senior Principal Scientist to join the Discovery Omics team, who will be responsible for applying high-dimensional biology throughout the drug discovery process, including understanding the mode of action of compounds, assessing off-target effects, and facilitating reverse translation. This individual will demonstrate a deep understanding of omics technologies and strong computational biology skills, with a focus on the analysis and interpretation of omics data. Utilize knowledge of genetics and pathway biology is essential to address the needs and scientific questions posed by collaborating teams and to assist in interpreting experimental findings. This role will support global teams across various therapeutic areas.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery omics projects in collaboration with functional and therapeutic area partners across multiple therapeutic modalities.
- Develop and implement (multi-)omics data analysis plans to support target identification and validation, lead optimization, and liability assessments.
- Collaborate with wet lab and computational teams to define the required analysis plan to achieve project goals.
- Drive internal and external innovation projects.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Ph.D. in Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
- Prior experience in drug discovery is required.
- Established knowledge/focus in computational biology, supported by relevant publications is preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as R and/or Python, is required.
- Strong expertise in standard transcriptomics data analysis (data processing, differential gene expression, pathway analysis) is preferred.
- Strong expertise in data visualization tools and methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms is preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling is preferred.
- Knowledge of unsupervised analysis techniques preferred.
- Experience with multi-omics data integration is preferred.
- Familiarity with large language models and generative methods is preferred.
- Experience working within Amazon Web Services (AWS) is preferred.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be independent, self-motivated, and possess an innovative mindset.
- Must have a strong team orientation and be highly collaborative and results-driven with the ability to work productively in a dynamic environment.
- The ability to translate and convey complex information and concepts to scientists from diverse backgrounds is required
- The ability to collaborate effectively with all levels in matrix environment is required.
The anticipated base pay range for this position in all other U.S. locations is $137,000 to $235,750.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
