Position Overview

The Senior Manager, International Tax will play a critical role to build a tax function to meet the demand of a changing tax landscape and growing company. The Senior Manager will be a technical resource for global direct tax matters and responsible for international tax aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting for income tax. The role will report directly to the Tax Director.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop tax recommendations related to the company's expansion into new jurisdictions and/or business models, considering US, local, and cross-border tax considerations.
  • Help ensure proper documentation of the company's positions (e.g., intercompany agreements, contemporaneous documentation, ASC 740 memoranda).
  • Liaise with tax authorities globally and manage foreign direct tax audits.
  • Monitor and advise on OECD and local country tax policy developments that may impact income tax related matters.
  • Lead transfer pricing initiatives and projects in the context of the company's growing business, including new business models, and develop methodologies and policies to integrate transfer pricing tax requirements to guide the business in managing risk.
  • Prepare/review the US international aspects of the international income tax workpapers and review foreign tax returns (5471/8858/1118/8993 etc.).
  • Work to ensure timely and accurate filings of foreign local income tax returns prepared by local accounting firms.
  • Prepare/reconcile return to provision ("RTP"), record RTP in provision model.
  • Perform research and advise on local country tax technical topics and positions.
  • Partner effectively and proactively within Finance and/or other external/internal parties to drive and implement process improvements.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; JD or master of tax a plus.
  • 10+ years in a large corporate tax environment with international tax experience, which may be in Big 4 or similar, and culminating in industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high attention to details. Able to stay flexible and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and possesses a sense of urgency.
  • Exercises sound judgement in decision-making situations.
  • Analytical skillset with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $138,000 to $238,050.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
