Position Summary

The Senior Manager will provide technical management of GHE-wide impact measurement and evidence collation. He or She will work closely with the Business Operations Leadership Team, collaborating extensively with teams across the organization on three primary objectives:

Metrics, Reporting and Impact tracking of our Growth and Core portfolios; including management and oversight of vendors and consultants.

Orchestrating dashboards and analysis for Employee Engagement, Investment Ventures, Global Product Donations, and others, as needed.

Facilitating processes and efficient tool deployment (i.e., calendars/trackers) across the organizations.

This individual will support organization-wide efforts at developing and collecting impact measurement indicators, working with multiple teams across the organization to compile and report on Global Health Equity impact. Additionally, He or She will work with team members in the Global Corporate Affairs team to review and summarize data sets, including through data visualization. The Senior Manager will be expected to think critically, reviewing and interpreting reported data, research, and evidence to draw insights and to synthesize evidence from multiple sources into a cohesive and compelling impact story. This role is a combination of technical and interpersonal: the senior manager will need to be comfortable working with data in various formats, reading and interpreting research, and synthesizing evidence from different sources, as well as interacting with enterprise colleagues to understand and develop ideas for organizational learning.

Responsibilities:

(1) Lead thinking on development and implementation of Impact Tracking and Reporting Efforts:

  • Assess and as needed evolve scorecarding approaches across different functions within Global Health Equity.
  • Interact with subject-matter-experts (at executive and non-executive levels) across the GHE organization to determine the country's capabilities.
  • Influence and align the POV of executives leading commitment execution activities on critical activities and their consistent enforcement.
  • Create best practices, guidelines and lead implementation plans.

(2) Develop and roll out analytical tools and processes needed to support execution of strategy:

  • Assess current tools' abilities to meet standards. Modify existing tools, and create new tools as needed, to ensure standards are met.
  • Train/assist GHE teams to utilize tools properly and follow submission protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage common tools and processes, develop recommendations that help enhance efficiencies (i.e., frequency, best practice sharing, automation, centralization)

(3) Data Analysis, Dashboarding and Learning:

  • Present data analysis to LT and facilitate understanding of influence factors for consideration in action planning.
  • Analyze results to determine significant performance drivers and obstacles, identify priority opportunity areas and work with extended teams to develop action plans to improve results.



Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have 10 years (minimum 3 years post MBA/MPH) of project management, performance management experience, inclusive of, but not limited to data visualization, data management, experience with key tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau), and external/internal reporting experience.
  • An ideal candidate should be highly motivated and can identify and define business questions and issues, develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis.
  • He/she will have experience developing and implementing processes and systems plans to drive execution in a matrixed environment.
  • The candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and significant influencing skills with the ability to gain credibility with team members and senior management.
  • The successful candidate will be a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in continued learning.
  • He/she will have excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively influence others, and a very high level of maturity.

  • Ability to create, implement and operationalize vision/strategy. Strong process orientation with superior project management capability.
  • Experience and success as an autonomous project leader with complex, multifunctional and multi-divisional considerations. Energetic and motivated to lead and drive success within his/her role.
  • Superior analytical and diagnostic capabilities. Proven ability to identify and define business issues and to develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis.
  • Ability to absorb new and very complex information quickly and seasoned leadership and influencing skills to gain credibility quickly at senior executive levels both within and outside J&J.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with ability to "develop the story" and ppt skills to capture it in presentation form to persuade others.
  • Ability to assess and make decisions quickly, to influence and align the thinking of others at senior levels. Consistent demonstration of professional maturity.
  • Strong analysis and modeling capability with proven ability to uncover underlying causes for performance and identify potential solutions
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and perseverance with innate desire to solve problems, discover or generate potential solutions and manage through ambiguity

Key Challenges/Unique Aspects of Position

  • Develop strategic roadmap midst range of complex, strongly held POVs by senior leaders.
  • Development/implementation of tools for countries with differing languages, data systems, capabilities and priorities and ensure consistency across all.
  • Deep analytics to facilitate challenging discussions. High need for completeness and accuracy to prevent risk to J&J when externally reported.

Salary:

The base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000 USD.

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year -
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year -
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
