POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced financial professional to join the R&D Finance Team. Reporting to the Finance Manager - Medical Innovation, this Senior Financial Analyst role will be responsible for providing support to the Abiomed Clinical Organization, a key value driver for the rapidly growing Abiomed business. We are looking for a motivated and results-driven analyst to provide best-in-class business partner support and help create transparency around key spending, milestones, and KPIs while enabling a smooth integration into J&J systems and processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Senior Director, Clinical and Field Ops, to ensure funding and tracking for our critical RCTs in Protect IV and STEMI DTU, as well as other ongoing trials.
  • Provide monthly reviews to the Senior Director of Clinical and his staff on actual spend vs. budget, as well as headcount reporting.
  • Closely partner with Clinical Trial Directors & Managers to keep Clinical Trials tracking files up to date.
  • Lead monthly/quarterly closing, latest thinking, and forecast cycle updates for Clinical.
  • Foster partnership within the R&D Finance team as well as with the broader finance teams in the US, DE, and Japan.
  • Enable the streamlining of the accrual process for clinical trials through global standardization, digital enhancements, and benchmarking within J&J.
  • Partner effectively with Clinical through the e-Marketplace and other J&J system integrations.
  • Enhance clinical trial monthly reporting with trial managers.
  • Participate in key Enterprise, MedTech, and Abiomed Finance initiatives, such as Organizational Health Actions, SigniFi, and process improvements.
  • Ensure SOX controls and GAAP compliance standards are met for all processes.


Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

• 3+ years of accounting, finance, or related business experience is required.

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualifications are preferred.

• Proven ability to work independently while appropriately planning, prioritizing, and communicating progress on multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively achieve results.

• This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.

• The preferred location for this role is Danvers, MA; however, flexibility on location is possible if required. There may be up to 10% travel required.
