As part of the DePuy Synthes Network EDGE strategy, we are increasing global manufacturing capacity within the DePuy Synthes Orthopedics franchise. In support of this initiative and in alignment with the overall Johnson & Johnson MedTech Supply Chain strategic priorities, a new J&J MedTech manufacturing facility will be constructed and qualified in Alajuela, Costa Rica! This project will accelerate our manufacturing capacity and agility, improve our supply chain efficiency and resiliency, and expand our existing capabilities - ultimately enabling us to better support the millions of patients and customers who rely on our life-changing products and innovations.

The Senior Quality Engineer will support definition of key Quality deliverables for successful project completion including verification & validation test planning and design control documentation updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of product variants including updates to product specifications such as product drawings, labels, IFUs and packaging bills of material
  • Support testing planning activities to determine scope of required design verification and/or validation testing
  • Execute updates to risk management documentation (RMP, DFMEA, RMR)
  • Support execution of other cross-functional design control deliverables including, but not limited to, requirements and traceability matrices, design verification/validation reports and memos, as required
  • Partner with cross-functional partners to ensure completion of deliverables in alignment with project strategy and timeline
  • Timely escalation of risks and emerging issues to project leadership


Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a Technical or Scientific discipline; Other advanced degree or a degree with a focus in Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or Digital area is preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality and/or R&D within a GMP or ISO regulated industry
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience leading risk management activities and developing associated documentation, such as Failure Modes & Effects Analysis
  • Interpersonal skills that foster collaboration as it relates to technical situations
  • Strong initiative and follow-through in executing project responsibilities, overcoming obstacles and balancing multiple priorities effectively through strong technical and/or project leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with blueprint reading / literacy including GD&T
  • Experience in process verification / validation

Other:

  • This position may require up to 30% domestic & international travel
