Overview
You will join the Controls & Robotics team working on the Monarch Platform. Our areas of expertise range from classic rigid robotics to customized control algorithms for our in-house medical instruments. Our work spans from early research to design verification and commercial implementation.
As an integral member of the team, you will work alongside highly skilled and hardworking engineers to characterize, test, and develop complex robotic subsystems and control algorithms.
We are looking for candidates with strong hardware and software skills that are deeply motivated to impact the lives of patients through advanced robotic technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and test robotic algorithms (instrument control, kinematics, dynamics, controls, etc.)
- Characterize robotic and medical instrument performance
- Perform modeling and control development for custom robotic hardware
- Develop novel analysis tools and accompanying user interactions
- Test and validate implementations on hardware
- Participate in design discussions and reviews
Qualifications
Education:
Master or PhD student in controls, mechatronics, robotics or equivalent experience
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Hands-on experience with robotic hardware
- Experience in Python, Matlab, and C++
Preferred:
- Some experience with nonlinear optimization and state estimation
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and documentation skills
The anticipated base pay for this role is Sophomore $31.00/hr, Junior $34.50/hr, Senior $38.00/hr, Masters $45.00/hr, PhD $59.00/hr.
This position is ineligible for severance.
