The Regional Medical Education Manager (RMEM) supports the development of the medical education strategic plan and calendar of events. The RMEM leads the identification of regional insights and educational gaps, validation of Canadian Healthcare Practitioner learning needs, and oversees event execution. The RMEM will identify field synergies for execution and oversee executional excellence of medical education learning events in alignment with the strategic plan. The RMEM will also identify local congress opportunities in alignment with laws, regulations, policy, and Corporate Compliance.

The Regional Medical Education Manager will support the National Medical Education Manager (NMEM) with: Needs Assessments for Other Learning Activities (OLA), recommendations for speakers and faculty of OLA development, calendarization and event ownership, reviewing event data, and coordination with the Medical Science Liaison for speaker preparation. The RMEM is responsible for overseeing national or cross-border learning events and oversight for congress symposia, and field logistics of these events.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Education Leadership

  • Contribute to the development of the Go-To-Market medical education plan.
  • Oversee the compliant execution of learning events in field.
  • Optimize medical education programs in the region.
  • Partner closely with Medical Science Liaison to compliantly prepare speakers for learning events.
  • Responsible for execution of all medical events and regional congress symposia operations
  • Track event metrics and provide insights to internal teams on a quarterly basis.
  • Understand the learning needs of the region(s) for medical education in the therapy area.
  • Responsible for event closure, post-event evaluation summaries, and post-event follow up with the speaker.
  • Coordinate event wrap-up and evaluation including insight feedback to National Medical Education Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of key regulations, policies, and industry codes applicable to healthcare compliance for pharmaceutical companies in Canada.

Field Logistics Leadership

  • Monitor ongoing events in the region to ensure compliant offerings.
  • Management of all aspects related to the tactical execution of a medical education event.
  • Ensure tracking and reporting of events in alignment with compliance and POA plan for the asset.

Other Duties

  • Partner closely with the Health Care Engagement Team and Medical Education Team to optimize process flow for educational assets and ensure alignment with all policies.
  • This role requires 25-30% domestic and/or international travel.


Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a university degree is required, preferably in medical or related health sciences field.

Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical education field.
  • In-depth knowledge of IMC code and Healthcare Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Must be highly proficient in French (written & oral).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to showcase leadership of cross-functional project team members.
  • Superior project and time management skills, including understanding of agile ways of working.
  • Results-driven, innovative, assertive, strategic problem solver.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational change and adoption.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in evaluating data/metrics and reporting, including communicating complex information effectively.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and or quality improvement processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, Adobe products, and strong ability to learn other technology quickly.
  • Prioritization and organization of workflow activities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment is critical.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in neuroscience.
  • Experience with medical education program development.
  • Completion of a course in Continuing Medical Education or Continuing Professional Development.
  • Confirmed examples of leadership, high learning agility, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity in the development educational projects.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the following areas: managing complexity, innovative thinking, verbal and written communications, and budget management.
