SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The Regional Business Director (RBD) is responsible for implementing/executing the Biosense Webster commercial strategy by managing Sales and Clinical personnel and activities to achieve business goals and maximize profitable sales growth in a rapidly growing marketplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Under (e.g. limited supervision, general direction, etc.) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
• Drive top line sales results in the assigned Region of the US Sales & Field Service group, in line with the Business Plan - including defining and managing the monthly and annual sales objectives for all of the Region's Sales and Clinical Personnel
• Meet and exceed sales and profit targets for the assigned Region of the US Sales & Field Service organization
• Provide accurate sales forecasts, develop and execute tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives
• Manage region's expense budget
• Coach and manage (directly) the performance and competency development of Territory Managers (TM) and EP/ULS Clinical Account Specialists (CAS) direct reports
• Oversees the appropriate use, budgetary allowance, and customer interactions of Region's per diem clinical support
• Responsible for developing and enhancing the clinical proficiency and certification of employees through partnership with the Clinical Education Manager (CEM) in a manner that prioritizes business results/relationships and attainment of Region/Area business goals
• Responsible for developing the sales and negotiation proficiencies of the TM
• Recruit, develop and retain talent in the Region (e.g., selection, performance management, succession planning, development planning, retention planning, etc)
• Develop and implement Company's commercial, field training, product and services marketing strategies and tactics through the field organization under his/her responsibility
• Develop and execute customer relationship strategies through his/her organization to ensure effective relationships with key clinical and commercial
• Responsible for developing strong customer relationships within the Region with key customers
• Drive organizational development and change (e.g., Pod organizational model)
• Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Excellence, Marketing, Commercial Effectiveness, Technical Services, Sales Operations, etc.) to develop and execute Region strategic plans
• Participate in national projects for the field organization
• Create positive change and an environment of team engagement and motivation
• Infuse the Johnson & Johnson Credo values and Biosense Webster Company culture into the Region
• Understand, adhere to, and hold team accountable for adherence to Company programs, policies and procedures (e.g. pricing models, expense reporting, compensation, healthcare compliance, etc.)
• Assess market conditions to develop and executive competitive strategies to grow market share in the Region in line with the Company's strategic direction
• Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Advance degree (e.g., MBA) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional work experience required
• Minimum of 3 year of Sales or Marketing experience in the US medical device industry required or 2 years prior Sales Management experience in the healthcare industry required
• Experience as a field trainer or project leadership required
• Minimum of 2 years of business experience in the Cardiac Electrophysiology or Cardiovascular industry preferred
• Preference to live within the Region
