Position Overview
The Principal Buyer, Indirect Procurement will work closely with Director of Procurement to partner across the business to develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect spend categories. This person will collaborate with various functions across the business. He/she will be responsible for developing a strategic approach to the procurement process for the purchase of indirect goods and services.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with suppliers to negotiate optimal long term and blanket contracts.
- Research vendors to determine best options and make recommendations by evaluating total cost and quality of indirect products and services.
- Source suppliers, develop suppliers, and build mutual beneficial relationships with suppliers.
- Develop strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business.
- Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures.
- Partner with various internal teams to drive cost savings initiatives; find creative cost-out solutions.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories.
- Ensure tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs.
- Provide direction and support to teams for initiatives critical to the business.
- Identify and leverage company-wide spend opportunities.
- Develop implementation strategy, responsibility assignments, communication plans, and timelines.
- Conduct thorough spend analysis, develop methodology and metrics tools to track progress.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to gather category requirements and specifications from departments and category subject matter experts.
- Create purchase orders and review invoices for payments.
- Collaborates with suppliers to resolve issues promptly.
- Develops departmental KPIs and reporting for executive review. Work with suppliers to establish KPIs and drive improvement in all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
- Ensures all procurement activities comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, procurement policies and procedures, and legal & ethical business practices.

Qualifications
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
- 10+ years of related experience or combined equivalent educational qualification and experience.
- Strong logical and prioritizing skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong procurement, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Successful track record in pricing and trading terms negotiation.
- Broad supplier benchmarking, spend and cost analysis knowledge.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and strong team player capable of working independently and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build and establish effective relationships at all levels within the internal organization and external suppliers.
- Able to stay flexible and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Outstanding analytical capabilities with proficiency in Excel and databases to extract, manipulate and organize large datasets. Prepare and present business case comparisons to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, Oracle preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- CPM/CPSM Certification, highly preferred.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $169,050.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
