Position Overview
The PLM Business Analyst in the manufacturing and product development industry plays a key role in supporting and optimizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. This individual acts as the liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and engineering departments to ensure that PLM processes support business goals, improve efficiency, and enable product innovation. The PLM Business Analyst will work in regulated environments such as medical devices, where adherence to standards is critical.
Essential Job Functions
- Business Process Analysis & Documentation: Work with stakeholders to understand business processes, gather PLM requirements, and develop detailed functional specifications and workflows.
- PLM System Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting PLM issues and enhancements, ensuring system performance and data integrity across the organization.
- User Support & Training: Provide training to end-users, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), and create process flow documentation to improve PLM utilization.
- System Enhancements & Optimization: Collaborate with the IT and engineering teams to implement new features, system updates, and customization that align with business goals.
- Project Coordination: Assist with the planning and implementation of new PLM-related projects, including product development, data migration, and system integrations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve PLM workflows, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
- Data Management & Reporting: Monitor PLM system data for accuracy and completeness, generate reports, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights to management.
- Change Management: Manage change requests and control updates to the PLM system, ensuring proper validation and documentation of changes.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Computer / Software Engineering or equivalent preferred)
- 10+ years of experience as a quality business analyst working in an MFG IT environment.
- 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, with hands-on experience in PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia).
- Experience in process design, PLM workflows, and systems integration.
- Knowledge of product development cycles, BOM management, change management, and compliance standards.
- Experience working in a medical devices regulated industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile or SCRUM project management methodologies is desirable.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $169,050.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
