The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall business performance of the Palm Beach Gardens J&J MedTech Orthopaedics manufacturing campus, ensuring that approved products are manufactured within safety, quality and cost standards.

Responsible for production, inventory and employee relations within assigned manufacturing area which include receiving, warehouse, stock, assembly, testing, packaging and shipping. Responsibilities also include support the support of movement of goods across the campus (components, WIP, S&R return), kitting of new Finished Products and packaging of Service & Repair products.
Proactively manage costs, driving long-term stability through leading indicators by aligning spend/cost structure. Continuous improvement in our Quality System execution, compliance to regulations & audit performance in order to achieve no critical audit observations, timeline completion of CAPAs and NCs, and reduced amount of product failures or rework.
Advance digital transformation to drive business growth and operational efficiency enabled by best-in-class systems and solutions, and by enabling our Talent development pathway to ensure capabilities aligned with the Digital Surgery portfolio.
Direct reports include 2 supervisors, multiple team-leads and more than 40 employees that manufacture robots, consoles, power tools and other electronic/digital solutions.
The Operations Manager will partner with other functions to secure high-level of customer service including, but not limited, to Human Resources, Engineering, New Product, Quality Operations, Quality Compliance, Environmental, Health Safety and Sustainability, Source, Plan, Finance, IT, Business Excellence, Deliver and Facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Secure that Supervisors & Team Leads are investing appropriated time to plan, organize and control work schedules in cooperation with planning department to ensure production schedules and department metrics are met, and that equipment-staff-tools are available to produce. We are expecting a greater than 95% volume attainment and a greater than 85% mix attainment in a fast growing business
- Responsible for presenting business related issues to management, advancing and coordinating actions to minimize customer service impact
- Provide leadership and guidance to production staff to resolve technical, operational, and performance problems using Our Credo principles and Credo Behaviors including, but not limited, to agility to support customer needs, collaboration with other functions and prioritization/clear communication.
- Responsible for people management. Sets the standard for performance assessment and feedback, effective communication, promoting positive morale and supporting employee involvement programs.
- Develop and deliver training on operating procedures and technical skills, including career progression pathway.
- Ensure department follows all Quality, EHS, and other company policies and procedures, including site readiness for audit events.
- Support the maintenance of the operating supply inventory, cycle-count and financial controls for minimal loss of J&J inventory.
- Assist in preparing, monitoring, and controlling department budget in a pro-active way to deliver our business plan financial and cash goals.
- Establish KPI's and ensure regular visibility, monitoring and action planning against metrics to enable strong business performance
- Ensure the facility is always in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements; lead Site Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Emergency plan by supporting annual activities (pre-work to update process, communication to prepare for events and leading execution to mitigate business and people risk)
- Complete on-time 5 performance and development conversations on an annual basis with direct reports, and secure that extended team also is completing activities on-time.
- Interview and select personnel to meet staffing requirements.
- Ensure that direct reports are aligned with all training requirements.
- Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical or business field.
Required:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing or related activities within a regulated environment (medical device or pharmaceutical)
- A minimum of 8 years of experience leading production teams (Wage)
- Strong analytical problem solving, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills, as well as associate relations capabilities, technology management, financial analyses, and customer-focused decision-making skills
- Excellent intellect, strategic and tactical thinking ability, complemented by a "hands-on" operational and business planning orientation
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety and Environmental requirements, Facilities Maintenance, Finance, and Human Resources Planning and Development
- Moral and personal integrity and the values that inspire trust in the organization
- Ability to read, comprehend and apply documentation such as Quality, safety, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with SAP experience advantageous.

- English Fluency mandatory
- Spanish comprehension is preferred
