Responsibilities:

  • The MES Technician primary responsibility is to work in partnership and collaborate with the MES Administrator in managing and supporting the MES system. Support the MES system, specific expertise with electronic batch record, exception reporting, implementation and integration with Data sweep system.
  • Under the guidance of the MES Administrator supports by managing low complexity MES projects from inception to implementation.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in major segments of the organization, consistently demonstrating a thorough understanding of the customer's business, their processes, and their priorities.
  • Creates and maintains routes, standard operations, work centers and all other system objects. Ensures safe working conditions and practices in the Department.
  • Ad-hoc report writing through the use of tools such as SQL and ODBC, support the creation of software test plans and carry-out tests. Knowledgeable and able to access all data outlets that customers interface with. Ability to understand entity relationship diagrams, as well as demonstrate client server and database fundamentals knowledge. Assists in the customization and of existing programs to meet users and operational requirements.
  • Advanced ad-hoc report writing through the use of tools such as SQL and ODBC, directing the creation of software test plans and coordinating tests, and demonstrating advanced communication techniques in the facilitation of conflict resolution and presentation skills.
  • Leading the implementation and communication efforts of new programs/ processes/ systems, significantly influencing system design, configuration, and business processes to meet user's needs, and presenting key findings, possible alternatives, and recommendations to next level management
  • Responsible for the Software Management program of the site.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Sciences or related technical field is required.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant systems experience, including knowledge of computer systems, technical standards, business hardware/ software/ network fundamentals, and query and reporting tools (Cognos, SQL, TOAD, etc.) is required.
  • Experience in the regulated manufacturing industry is required.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and reliable transportation. This position is eligible for Mileage Reimbursement for Personal Car Usage as per JNJ Global Travel, Meetings and Expense Policy. The mileage reimbursement is intended to cover costs related to operation of the vehicle including service, maintenance (gasoline, oil), routine repairs, insurance, and depreciation.
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.
  • Availability to travel 10% of the time between Ethicon Locations, Domestic and/or international travel is required.
  • Computer systems proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, the manufacturing process, and the operation of the particular site is required.
  • Knowledge of technical diagram/process flow-charting, and MS Office Applications, including MS Project (project scheduling, time management) and MS Windows, and participating in professional organizations that apply to job responsibilities is preferred.
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.
