This role is accountable for two primary objectives: Build robust and relevant category strategies that are strongly aligned to the business needs and market dynamics. The second is to serve as global Supplier Relationship manager to strategic suppliers and ensuring maximum value and innovation from those partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Innovative Medicine R&D priorities and devise category strategies that advance those priorities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to ensure Procurement strategies meet the business needs, and are adopted within the business
  • Identify industry trends that Procurement must incorporate in its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the business
  • Partner with the Agile and Global Services teams in the execution of strategic sourcing events and negotiations
  • Deliver against performance targets for the Innovative Medicine Procurement organization


Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelors Degree is required, and an MBA or other advanced degree is desirable.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience is required (preferably in Procurement, Business Operations or Supply Chain)
  • Able to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to expertly present complex information to senior executives
  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus including spend management, source-to-pay.
  • Strong project and change management capabilities
  • Proven learning agility, improving both yourself and the people around you
  • Ability to effectively deliver against Goals and Objectives while also balancing a modified schedule and shared roles and responsibilities with other team members

Preferred:

  • Preferred experience in Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Medical Technology sectors
  • High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community, based on broad experience
  • Track record in participating and leading cross-functional teams
  • Flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment

Other:

  • 10% travel requirement - international and US domestic (if applicable)
