Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Summer Intern position to support the Global Scholars Program, an initiative that focuses on developing early-in-career post graduate talent across different pillars of R&D. The positions will be set up via hybrid employment (3 days on site and 2 days remote) and tied to one our New Jersey or Pennsylvania locations.
The candidate will support projects aligned with our Credo values and strategic priorities.

The Scholars Program Summer Intern position will provide a selected undergraduate student with hands-on practical experience focusing on aspects of the learning administration, knowledge sharing, operational excellence, communication strategies & delivery of mentoring solutions to the Global Scholars Community. This will include working with cross-functional teams, understanding global learning & development (L&D) environment, and gaining exposure to creating community outreach efforts for networking events. The candidate will focus specifically on MentorCliq capabilities, will evaluate, propose and create methodologies to drive insights into the program's performance and participant experience, optimized mentee/mentor relationship to fit in with their busy schedules. The Intern will be able to support Scholars Program Core Team to grow the programs internal as well as external marketing presence. The intern will have ability to partner beyond Scholars Program, networking with other internship communities across R&D and attend site specific events.

Key activities

Engage with Scholars Program Core Team, Workstream Leaders and program Co-Directors to:
• Review, evaluate & recommend actions to grow MentorCliq capabilities, driving mentorship program growth for the Scholars Community (read available materials, summarize key finding, recommend best way to apply to increase mentorship capabilities), track & report progress.
• Contribute to creation of knowledge sharing environment (ex. marketing materials, LinkedIn posts, etc.) for the Scholars Program by building communication framework for internal and external customers, aligned with regional processes and policies while ensuring that information is aligned with J&J branding. Cascade and seek clarification with the team when the need arises.
• Support Scholars SharePoint site management, continuously build and update information, validate quality and support metrics development.
• Partner with L&D leaders to evaluate and develop activities in learning administration. Provide timely, complete and accurate learning administration support in deploying training activities.
• Provide support through partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition stakeholders in driving Scholars identification, talent talks, training curriculum and other collaborative activities.
• Take ownership of all assigned tasks, initiatives, and inquiries, making sure resolution is efficient and accurate.
• Participate in scheduled and ad hoc team meetings/training/workshops to improve Scholars Program initiatives as assigned by management.
Life as a Scholars Program Summer Intern:
The Summer Intern Program provides 12-15 weeks of real-life hands-on experience, education, coaching, mentoring, and networking opportunities to meet people globally from various cross-functional areas while supporting R&D training and development of early-in-career scientists.

The Intern Program and each intern will adhere to the following framework:

  • Typically run from May 2025 - August 2025
  • Hybrid work model (3 days at one of local sites, 2 days remote)
  • Required 40-hour work week.
  • Responsible for own transportation to local site(s)
  • Assignment area and work-site location to match business needs.
  • Pay rate determined on the grade level at time of offer.
  • Career mentorship with networking opportunities

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now, or in the future (ex. H1-B). Students currently in the country on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT require future sponsorship for long-term employment.
  • Candidate applying must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of the Intern assignment pursuing a bachelor's degree.
  • By start date, candidate who apply must enrolled as an undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior.
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship/co-op.
  • Ability to provide transportation to/from the work location.
  • Collaborative, ability to navigate multiple audiences, task oriented.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary.
  • Proven ability to manage complex situations and work effectively in team environments.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, agile, managing dynamic environment.
• Strong presentation, and leadership skills preferred.
• Must be a self-starter, works independently while contributing to the team goals.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while executing results.
• Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired.
