Johnson & Johnson MedTech Canada, based in Markham, Ontario is currently seeking a Field Inventory Specialist to join our Asset Management team. This is a duration-based role for 14 months. This is a field based remote role located in Calgary, Alberta.

This individual is responsible for the effective and compliant management of consigned medical devices within the assigned territory. This regional field based individual works closely with sales, Sales & Marketing Operations, finance, loaner operations, and supply chain partners to develop insights that enable the execution of an effective consignment inventory strategy (including expiry management and territory sales stock) that meet both business needs and financial expectations.

In addition, this person is to ensure field inventory processes are adhering to compliance requirements in partnership with the office team. Directly responsible for the timely completion of Audits and Returns execution.

This person is to develop and/or use existing reports and processes to drive concrete insights to results. Benchmarking of standard methodologies across regions will be part of this person's purview, including recommending new practices for implementation within their territory. This individual will report to the Supply Chain Manager, Asset Management and will provide report outs to senior leadership on a routine basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a collaborative partnership with the Customer and Sales Team, geared towards continuous improvement for Asset Management and Inventory Optimization.
  • Gather account insights by partnering with Sales Representatives and stakeholders in the hospitals.
  • Directly accountable for Field Inventory Accuracy within their territory. Including Expiry Management.
  • Supervise utilization of consigned medical devices through analysis of product, account, provincial and national turns.
  • Provide recommendations on the adequate mix of consigned products at each account and drive and implement the optimization of underutilized consignment assets.
  • Partner with Asset Management Lead to implement Loaner Utilization and Optimization plan.
  • Support Sales Team in the management of Agency Sets.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to reduce the risk of expiry replacement (i.e. inventory optimization, transfers between accounts) improving their customer and sales team partnership to achieve it.
  • Analyze and implement strategies to drive efficient levels of inventory.
  • Engage the Sales team to drive reduction of inventory through expiry non-replacement.
  • Partner with Finance to establish annual audit risk assessment and implementation strategy.
  • Drive the scheduling and conduct audits with the support of the Sales Force.
  • Reconcile results of annual field counts and work with Sales, Finance, Customer Service & Supply Chain Planning to resolve discrepancies.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience in Supply Chain or Finance Management of Medical Device inventory with exposure to the management of consigned devices is preferred.
  • APICS certification (CSCP/CPIM) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills - Ability to effectively manage large amounts of data and identify trends, gaps, & opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Strong customer demeanor and ability to represent J&J with external partners.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Experience using/learning SAP, including MyMediset module is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • The role is field based and requires managing inventory within a Region: Travel required 50%
  • Valid Canadian driver's license is required.
