Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Protection (EP) Specialist Supervisor, the EP Specialist is responsible for providing safe and efficient transport and protection services for senior leadership/management as requested. Transportation is provided to designated/requested locations, avoiding any possible harm to the executive in the transfer process.
The EP Specialist's responsibilities include:
- Transports executives assigned to the Executive Garage and visitors to and from corporate facilities, special events, and specified locations within local and outlying areas
- Maintains good levels of interpersonal skills to exchange information, answer questions, interact with senior executives and greet visitors
- Identifies and avoids potential hazardous situations and/or life-threatening situations, and provides cover and removes passengers from harm to a safe location (i.e., plan the route of travel, implement a diversion plan, when necessary, to ensure a safe and uneventful conveyance)
- Establishes and maintains an identification code system for use in an event of an emergency (i.e., a code that would alert the executive of danger in a crowd or business event situation)
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality with regard to Corporate Executives including family contact information, residence locations, and residence security systems
- Communicates schedule information/updates to administrative assistants as requested
- Conducts pre-trip advanced security checks of venues that will be visited by Corporate Executives and senior leadership/management; advance security checks will include:
- Conducts a walkthrough of all venues to include all meeting rooms, rear corridors, and evacuation routes; during walk-throughs, the EP Specialist will identify security, safety, fire, asset protection, and medical risks
- Reviews and provides security for the attendee registration process
- Reviews and implements plans for Executive Protection
- Handles speaking disruptions such as a protestor who gains access to the meeting/event
- Assigns an event staff member or security team representative to be in charge of post meeting room sweeps for property and confidential information
- Ensures Information Asset Protection Policy (IAPP) guidelines on destruction of information are followed
- Follows company safety procedures and practices: (i.e., use of company cars for company business only, records mileage from garage starting point to garage return)
- Performs miscellaneous transport service requests
- Oversees the overall appearance and operation of company vehicles used for executive protection
- Maintains schedule and arranges for proper maintenance and service as required for vehicles used for executive protection
- Attends defensive driver training class once a year, maintains a valid firearm permit to include semi-annual certification in firing the weapon
- Must pass skill and ability reviews conducted by outside consultants/driving instructors retained to ensure that drivers possess requisite abilities to appropriately recognize and avert danger and threats
- Responds to and handles emergencies that affect executives under their protection
- In an emergency, you must have the physical ability to expedite the movement of the Executive into the vehicle, and expediently to depart the area
- Be certified in administering CPR and Heart Defibrillator and knowledge of basic first aid
- Have the ability to drag a person from the vehicle to a prone position in order to administer CPR/Heart Defibrillator
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor
- Be in excellent physical condition and fitness to perform the following:
- Maintain physical fitness in accordance with any applicable physician's guidance
- Utilization of fitness centers on company property as schedule allows
- Limit gym trips to 90 minutes total from start to finish which includes travel time, workout, shower, etc.
- If two or more EP Specialist are on site, one must stay in the office
- If only one EPS is on-site, the gym trip should be limited to 60 minutes and scheduled between noon at 1:00 pm
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Must reside in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania)
- Must be knowledgeable of New York City, Philadelphia, Newark, Trenton, and Tri-State area airports
- Must possess a valid state driver's license with a safe driving record
- Must have highly technical driving skills, expertise in driving regulations, knowledge of law enforcement policies, and knowledge of basic automobile mechanics
- Must have the ability to function and use sound judgment in high-profile situations including oral and written communication skills
- Must have problem-solving skills to handle and prioritize Executive's requests vs. other duties
- Must be in excellent physical condition to include having vision correctable to 20/40, good peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision, adequate hearing, and ease in the shoulder and head mobility for defensive driving practice
- Must be able to pass a stress test, drug screening, and standard company criminal background check
- Basic Microsoft Office computer skills are required
Preferred Competencies:
- A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
- Prior law enforcement and/or EP experience.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $49,000-$78,200. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. This position is overtime eligible.

o Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
o Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
