The Director, SPM Strategic Partnerships and Process Optimization serves as a key partner to the Head, SPM Team, shaping the organization's submission capabilities and coordinating project management roles to optimize submission processes. Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing new technologies to enhance submission capabilities, establishing and tracking goals and performance indicators, and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure support for SPM solutions. The role also involves overseeing the development and communication of training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing mentorship to team members. Additionally, the individual will engage stakeholders, support change management initiatives, and foster collaboration among cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement within the SPM team/SubX. Performance reporting and evaluating the effectiveness of new tools are also critical to ensuring successful submission project management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic thought partner for the SPM Team/SubX Leader in shaping the SubX framework, particularly in coordinating organizational Functional Project Management roles (RPM, CPP, CPM, PDPM,) to support new ways of working for submissions.
- Identify opportunities and support the development and implementation of new technologies (such as MSP Online, URP, and digital transformation) to enhance submission capabilities.
- Ensure the development and tracking of Goals and Objectives (G&Os) for the optimization of the SubX framework, establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met, and intervening as necessary.
- Develop and nurture relationships with internal and external partners to identify key optimization opportunities, securing organizational sponsorship to effectively implement SPM solutions.
- Act as the overall Submission Process Owner, including MSP Template ownership for the "3-Month Submission Starting Point" and "Submission Foundation" plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for communicating and coordinating the end-to-end submission process, translating cross-functional processes and improvements into the SPML Submission Foundation Plan and the 3-Month Starting Point Plan in collaboration with functional leads and project management teams.
- Oversee the development and revisions of the SubX/SPML Training Modules, ensuring version control and maintaining up-to-date training materials.
- Conduct training sessions for the SPML team and communicate any revisions made to training content. Provide coaching and training to SPML members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Process Ownership:
- Maintain deep knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end submission delivery process, including the Submission Excellence Framework; this is the basis for all other responsibilities.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Actively engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with SPM Team and SubX objectives and deliverables.
- Change Management:
- Support change management activities related to SubX process enhancements and new technologies, ensuring smooth transitions for the team and project stakeholders.
- Performance Reporting:
- Prepare and present submission performance reports to the SPM/SubX leadership, highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and areas for improvement related to G&Os and KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to SubX
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the SPM team/SubX by identifying best practices and lessons learned to refine existing processes and tools.
- Technology Integration:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented technologies and tools to support ongoing enhancements in Submission project management practices.
- Mentorship/Talent development:
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development within the project management domain.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Life Sciences, Business Management, Regulatory Affairs or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry/business experience is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed work environment is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical, MedTech or comparable R&D area with demonstrated organizational awareness and applied knowledge of end-to-end (E2E) drug or medical device development is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of formal project management experience with high proficiency and demonstrated application of project management standards, planning and visualization methods/tools is required.
- Prior major submission cross-functional leadership experience is strongly preferred
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment. Professional Certification in Project Management is preferred.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including MSP.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 160000 to 276000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
