Position Overview

The Director of Process Technologies and Engineering is responsible for the strategy, design, development, and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes by analyzing data, optimizing workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring product quality is maintained through careful monitoring of equipment and process parameters. Ultimately aiming to improve production efficiency and reduce waste within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee the Process Technology and Engineering department that provides a strategy of the overall technology roadmap over a 5-year range.
  • Work closely with the Product Development teams to deliver the highest quality products using processes which consistently meet or exceed all applicable customer expectations.
  • Communicates project status to Senior Management and establishes project plans, timelines, needed resources, capacity requirements, cost justifications, cost savings opportunities, to successfully lead the Process Technology team focusing on issues that might significantly impact schedule, product quality, cost and reliability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements as technology changes.
  • Oversee the day-to-day work of the Process Technology department, employees, and manage their performance, feedback and guidance.
  • Responsible for the process and equipment within Shockwave including the design, development, testing, and implementation. Tooling and fixtures for the products that are developed to be implemented with validations.
  • Follows and abides by the company safety policies, practices, and procedures that will consistently meet company goals, objectives, and milestones.
  • Able to coach staff on principles of Design for Manufacturability, basic and complex statistics, lean fundamentals and six sigma practices.
  • Encourages a culture/environment of operational excellence and continuous improvements. Leads, champions, and participates in continuous improvement activities and advanced problem-solving programs.
  • Drive accountability, ownership, and execution. Manage department financials, projects, physical resources, and personnel. Individually and ensure their team works collaboratively across all functions to achieve company and functional goals and objectives.
  • Hire highly talented individuals who fit the culture, team goals and can execute projects while involving others across the department to align on the execution and goals.


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience prior industry experience with at least 5 years of direct people management.
  • Experience is Design for Manufacturability and Six Sigma tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of and compliance with applicable Quality System requirements.(e.g., traceability QSRs, ISO and MDD requirements), Environmental Health and Safety, as well as having knowledge of standards related to equipment design and implementation into global medical device manufacturing plants.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to drive change, manage complexity and lead a variety of projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Partners and collaborate effectively with senior management and co-workers up and down as well as across the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels.

Additional Information

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $167,000 to $289,800 annually.
  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
  • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
