We're seeking an experienced Multichannel Media Director to join J&J's Media Excellence Team. The Director will act as a bridge between internal stakeholders and J&J's external media AOR to quarterback best-in-class media plans which achieve objectives. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in cross-channel paid media planning, building a culture of operational excellence, and navigating the competing demands of simultaneous campaigns and priorities. Reporting to the Head of J&J Media Excellence, this individual will work directly with numerous internal corporate and MedTech teams and external agency partners to provide subject matter expertise to accelerate J&J performance and leadership in paid media.
This is a hybrid role primarily based in New Brunswick with one day a week in Titusville, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage multichannel media strategies for a group of in-house businesses
• Lead J&J's Media AOR to develop best-in-class media strategies which achieve business objectives and maximize ROI. This includes driving strategy, innovation, activation, and measurement.
• Own the end-to-end media planning process across Enterprise and MedTech, including but not limited to: Corporate Brand Equity, Nursing, Talent Acquisition, Health Equity, Health for Humanity, Government Affairs, Visioncare, Ethicon, Depuy
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams in Corporate Communications, Finance, and Procurement to ensure brand safety, compliance, budget management and advanced measurement.
• Drive leadership priorities by developing strong partnerships and evolving ways of working
Media execution, education and functional needs
• Act as a bridge between internal stakeholders and J&J's media AOR to quarterback best-in-class media plans which achieve objectives.
• Oversee client media briefs to ensure inputs are clear, strategically-sound and clearly outline what success looks like i.e. KPIs and measurement goals.
• Partner with Brand Equity's Omnichannel Team to review media plan strategies and execution.
• Partner with Issues & Brand Protection Team to ensure brand safety controls and considerations are proactively and routinely managed.
• Facilitate the development and/or refresh of addressable target audiences and data pass back between various internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide input on High Value Audience (HVA) segments to maximize targeting and advertising/marketing impact
• Ensure that meaningful KPI's and performance metrics are developed for all J&J Equity media partnerships and aligned with internal management in advance. This includes targeted channels for reaching unique stakeholder audiences (DE&I, Government Policymakers, Talent Recruiting) that might not deliver mainstream media cost KPI's and cost.
• Leverage media innovation driven by J&J Media Excellence team
• In partnership with procurement, lead annual Agency Scope of-Work and Performance Evaluations
Oversee Paid Media Executional and Measurement
• Lead executional oversight of paid media plans with media agencies to ensure alignment with plan requirements, budget, media delivery and channel allocation
• Work closely with Media Agency to optimize diagnostic metrics while in-flight
• Partner with Global Strategic Insights to provide longer-term attitudinal marketing-mix measurement (3 month post-campaign), and annually with Global Reputational Insights System (GRIS)
• Continuous application of learnings and best practices thru data-driven insights and testing
Central Voice for Med-Tech and Vision on Media Activities and Needs
• Ensure representation in all Enterprise media activities including Power Partners, Upfronts
• Provide opportunities for CIR Marketing and Media Capabilities training with Med-Tech and Vision
• Support data feeds and measurement/optimization
• Leverage overall J&J relationship with Agency partners to ensure they are providing best-in-class media planning/buying services, fees and industry expertise
Ensure "Media Industry Leading Approach" and shared learning
• Support CIR Marketing and Media Capabilities and training programs across all sectors
• Scale best practice organization-wide success stories to drive proof of concept and engagement from our marketers, including sharing best practices and identifying opportunities to scale inclusive, digital and media learning opportunities across all divisions of the J&J enterprise.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Required
• A minimum 15 years of media experience is required, including experience at a media planning or buying agency, a media publisher, or as marketer who has experience in Healthcare and/or Consumer digital media.
• Experience in the execution of multiple paid media channels, such as Linear TV, Streaming Search, Social, OOH, Print and EHR.
• Channel expertise required: Programmatic, CTV, Paid Search, Paid Social, Endemic, OOH, Print Audio and other digital channels.
• Preferred Healthcare experience and working knowledge of regulatory environment and what challenges that environment poses to innovating in the media space
• Continuous curiosity and passion to learn about digital transformation and the latest digital trends and lead with an entrepreneurial mindset. Strong learning agility.
• Experience in inclusive marketing / diversity, equity & inclusion marketing, media and/or partnerships.
• Strong return on investment focused business acumen and process optimization mentality, strong analytical and change management skills to provide solid business and process-focused conclusions and recommendations.
• Committed self-starter and accountable individual, who takes initiative in implementing goals, meeting deadlines, making decisions, recommending improvements, and holding self and team members accountable to deliver goals and objectives.
• Ability to establish effective relationships, motivate and inspire department and project team members, lead in ambiguous environments, and influence across teams without direct accountability is essential.
• Experience managing and coaching teams, through both direct and indirect reporting lines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Other:
• Travel up to 10% domestically is required, including regular meetings in NYC with media agencies and key third-party partners.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
