This role is responsible for leading teams across both competitive strategy and strategic insights to drive strategies and recommendations for the company. This role will drive deeper internal knowledge of our competitor's strategies, plans and activities and using this knowledge to drive clear impactful messaging to be communicated both internally and externally to ensure Johnson and Johnson, MedTech Electrophysiology is well positioned in the market. This leader and their teams will develop expertise and perspective on the global long-term competitive, clinical, technological, and economic evolution of the AFIB, Electrophysiology, and adjacent markets. They will partner across GSM platform leaders to ensure strategic alignment on "where to play" (future market evolution, adjacencies) and "how to win" (portfolio positioning/messaging, growth drivers) given the expected market and competitive future.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead team responsible for Competitor insights, to include the following:

• For industry conferences in electrophysiology, use clinical understanding of the industry to deliver on the following activities:

o Review all scheduled sessions and poster abstracts and publish comprehensive preview of key competitor activities and data sets featuring competitor products.

o Partner with clinical team to drive insights into clinical strategy and tactics. Also ensure efficiency of coverage of Electrophysiology + competitive coverage, minimizing overlap.

    • Lead team activities to author comprehensive competitive intelligence report at conclusion of the conference: 1.) Executive summary report in presentation format to be shared and presented broadly to the organization focusing on competitive heat maps, key takeaways, and activities or primary competitors. 2.) Full report of captured content for GSM colleagues to deeper dive competitor activities as needed.

• Maintain, Update, and drive usage of the Competitive Repository including competitive ecosystems, competitor deep dives, congress reports, and product fact sheets.

• Develop "Competitive Playbooks" for NPI in partnership with relevant GSM product manager to ensure NPI messaging highlights both product and ecosystem differentiation.

• Deliver cadence of competitive report outs across a range of forums and frequencies: Leadership (President/VP GSM), US LT, Regional deep dives, GSM, Clinical Team, R&D

Lead team responsible for strategic insights, to include the following:

  • Lead team dedicated to delivering concrete strategic recommendations and market insights in the dynamic cardiac ablation market. Train and develop team members to provide continuous support to the business today while keeping an eye to expected future trends.

• Develop Customer Insights through global primary market research and report out learnings globally and cross-functionally through presentations and workshops for the relevant studies such as: Global Customer Segmentation, Net Promoter Score, PFA adoption and PFA pricing, Competitive product usage.

• Creating and delivering presentations on global market trends, including insights from both quantitative share trends and qualitative clinical competitive intelligence captured from industry conferences and the Electrophysiology field.

• Deliver Quarterly Global Market and Share Reporting as well as relevant regional deep dives leveraging a combination of Competitor Earnings, Consortium data, and DRG Price track data in the US. Deliver reports as well as relevant leadership presentations.

• In partnership with finance, develop and drive usage of an ecosystem approach to measuring our business performance based on the underlying growth drivers of our revenue performance.

• Support corporate forecasting cycles with market and share calls to inform revenue forecasts for: BP, JU, NU, LRFP, MTP

• Partner with Office of MedTech Strategy organization to support Investor events and communications, ad hoc MTLT analysis, and refinement of corporate forecasts.

• Monitor all public events from competitor companies such as quarterly earnings calls, analyst day events, and presentations at investor events. Publish reports on sales results and product development updates, from expected regulatory timelines to commercial trends.

• Monitor global regulatory product approvals on all agency websites to report on competitor approvals immediately after data are available. Partner with clinical to predict future competitive product approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field required. Advanced degree (e.g., M.B.A.) is highly preferred.

• 10 years of relevant business experience in Marketing, General Management or Sales, or a related field is required.

• Experience leading strategic marketing strongly preferred. International experience is also preferred.

• Cardiovascular industry and clinical electrophysiology knowledge strongly preferred with proven ability to learn complex technology/clinical applications.

• The demonstrated ability to operate in highly complex, hybrid and diversified markets is required.

• Strong financial acumen

• 20-30% travel required, including weekends.

• Willing to work in both clinical and animal facilities, and capable of wearing protective lead clothing.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850. California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $167,000 to $289,800.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
