The Director, Alliance Management will lead strategic alliances within the Cardiopulmonary and Specialty Ophthalmology therapeutic area (TA) of the Pharmaceutical Group. Main responsibilities include leading post-deal and day-to-day alliance activities to shape and achieve the strategic objectives of the alliance, establishing clear communication lines across the partnership, anticipating and resolving potential issues, negotiating ancillary agreements and amendments and overall ensuring the highest quality relationship possible.
The Director, Alliance Management will report to the Sr. Director Alliance Manager
This individual will be responsible for several areas including but not limited to:
- Assigned specific alliances within Cardiopulmonary and Specialty Ophthalmology and will lead partnership integration through all phases of development and commercialization
- Implement Alliance Management programmatic processes and tools appropriate to the scope and needs of the alliance.
- Participate as a member of the joint R&D and commercial project teams to proactively foster coordination and alignment of all internal and external partners to the goals and objectives of the alliance.
- Openly, proactively, and clearly communicate across all lines of the partnership including Senior Management.
- This position will require the ability to anticipate and resolve issues and conflicts arising out of changing priorities and unpredictable events.
- Monitor the progress of the contract obligations and milestones and effectively monitor the satisfaction of the partner.
- Provide input during pre-deal negotiations
- Facilitate and/or negotiate ancillary agreements and amendments
- Monitor the progress of the contract obligations and milestones and effectively monitor the health of the alliance/partnerships
Qualifications
Education:
- A BS degree is required.
- An advanced degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D., etc.) in a scientific, technical or commercial field is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- A minimum of 10 years related experience, working in a scientific, technical or commercial organization is required.
- Experience developing and managing timelines, budgets and similar details on multiple large-scale projects or in a significant line capacity is required.
- Experience in managing and working in a team environment is required, with a proven ability to mobilize and align diverse groups across multiple functions and companies to build interdependent partnerships.
- An understanding of drug development is required.
- Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, negotiation, and decision making will be needed, in addition to experience in working with senior levels within the organization.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as strong communication and listening skills are required.
- Ability to manage complexities, think strategically and exercise good judgment is required.
Preferred:
- Experience in operations or program management is preferred.
Other:
- This position can be based in Springhouse, PA, Titusville, New Brunswick or Raritan, NJ and will required up to 15% domestic and international travel.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
