Overview
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Co-Op in the Process Analytical Sciences-Separation (PAS-Sep) group. At J&J Innovative Medicine, our mission is to create a world without disease. Role Summary:
To support titer and aggregate determination of harvest materials and aid in process development, we aim to establish a Mobile Affinity Chromatography method that will be implemented within the PAS-Sep team. Under the mentorship of the hiring manager, the Co-Op will play a key role in conducting this study by executing each phase of the method development project and optimizing the method parameters. Responsibilities will include preparation of reagents, execution of experiments, data collection and processing, and presentation of results throughout the project. The Co-Op will gain valuable hands-on experience in liquid chromatography, method development, protein structure, and various lab techniques.

Co-Op Program Benefits
This Co-Op program offers students real-life experience, coaching and mentoring opportunities, networking with professionals, and the chance to meet peers from various academic backgrounds across the country. Each Co-Op will focus on at least one specific project during the 6-month term.
Duration: May 2025 - December 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate individually and with team members to develop the Mobile Affinity Chromatography method.
- Design, troubleshoot, and complete experiments with guidance from the manager; analyze data, interpret results, and document findings in laboratory notebooks.
- Provide regular status updates to the manager and effectively communicate project progress to the team.
Qualifications
Required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and not requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future is required.
- Enrollment in a program that accommodates co-op opportunities for a 6-month duration.
- Undergraduate students at the junior or senior level in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or graduate students in Analytical Chemistry,Bioanalytical Chemistry, and related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Prior knowledge of liquid chromatography and protein structure.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
