The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing process development and engineering best practices to optimize manufacturing processes for new equipment introductions and drive transformative process improvements in existing processes.

Key Role Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing one of our Business Unit related to manufacturing, materials, facilities, distribution, engineering and maintenance to ensure smooth, continuous, cost effective and controlled manufacture of products in support of the business' forecasts and inventory goals. At this level, the position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and typically, responsibility for managing a group of professionals.
• Understands and implements Ethicon Quality policy and Quality system including (CAPA, NCR, change management/ document control).
• Maintains familiarity with applicable quality system regulations & standards for the medical products manufactured at the site and factors these requirements into business decisions and recommendations.
• Responsible for compliance with all corporate regulatory, human resource programs, policies and procedures, and safety/environmental systems.
• Provides a leadership role in the development and implementation of Process Excellence and Six Sigma standards.
• Develops all capital expense forecasts and budgets to support business needs. Provides variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Manages a customer driven quality plant that ensures regulatory compliance to ISO and GMP requirements.
• Responsible for salary administration issues and Talent Management. Reviews and recommends change to current policies and procedures for applicability to present business plans.
• Provides and establishes leadership climate for operations within business unit towards continue quality improvements and compliance with regulatory requirements as they apply to all business aspects.
• Makes decisions based on understanding of multiple departments and their interrelationships.
• Manages operation to ensure achievement of CIP and OGSM initiatives.
• Provides leadership to meet the challenges of Diversity to move the process forward.
• Manages, motivates, and develops subordinates to achieve their full potential.
• Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (for example, ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).
• Responsible for developing and guiding all associates within their organization, including hourly associates and 10-15 Managers and supervisors.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or science. Master's degree desirable.
• 8 - 10 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering is required.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Skills
• Understanding of manufacturing shop floor and related computer systems
• Strong analytical problem solving and interpersonal skills ability.
• Leadership and Negotiating skills; excellent communication skills plus the ability to function in a team-based manufacturing environment.

• Customer-focused decision making
• Capable to lead and motivate people and coach them to develop and grow.
• Presentation and well-developed communications skills
• FPX, Six Sigma, Lean training preferred.
• Green Belt or Black Belt Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred
• Medical Device, Consumer or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred

• This position may require up to 10% of travel both internationally and domestically.
• The role has a primary location in San Angelo Ethicon Plant, Full on site.
