Are you an outstanding scientist with experience in automation and purification? Are you looking to apply your expertise to craft biotherapeutics targeting challenging diseases? We at Janssen Biotherapeutics are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our team committed to change the future of medicine. As a member of the Biologics Discovery team, you will apply the latest high-throughput technologies to identify novel lead molecules for addressing unmet medical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate cutting-edge automated protocols for various protein expression platforms, such as E. coli, CHO, and HEK293 systems.
- Conduct hands-on research and experimentation, applying your expertise in automation, and protein production to drive breakthroughs in our scientific endeavors.
- Stay ahead of the latest automation technologies, cell culture techniques, and protein purification.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, data summaries, and presentations to share research findings, insights, and recommendations with internal partners and collaborators
Skills:
- Experience with programming liquid handlers such as Biomek, TECAN, LYNX, and Hamilton platforms.
- Excel at developing/improving high-throughput robotic platforms for production and screening of biological samples.
- Collaborate efficiently with multidisciplinary scientists, including communicating in a diverse scientific environment.
- Ability to take an integral role in project and functional teams to drive project advancement.
- Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks and write technical reports, summaries, protocols, and manuscripts.
Qualifications
Education
- B.Sc. or M.Sc with a minimum 2 years of industry experience in Robotics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Automation, Biophysics or related field is required
Required:
- Excel at operating high-throughput robotic platform is required
- The ability to work independently and meet discovery timelines is required
Preferred:
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing automated systems including the use of automated liquid handling systems, high-throughput screening platforms, and robotics is preferred
- Experience with CHO or HEK293 expression platforms is preferred
- Experience with high-throughput small molecule screening / protein engineering/ Assay / biological system engineering screening is preferred
- A minimum of 2 or more years of automation experience is preferred
- Candidate must have interpersonal skills to collaborate within a diverse team is preferred
- Cell culture experience is preferred
